www.rollingstone.com/tv-movies/tv-movie-lists/worst-tv-network-decisions-1234796350/First, ixnay on the umbernay ootay of course. (It's a bit overblown IMO...we didn't know back then after all...still, without politics, I doubt we'd care...) I'd also have mentioned: Q5 neuters The Real Ghostbusters. Shows that continue sans their most loved characters (Once Upon A Time, American Housewife, Coupling [UK]) On the topic, the US Coupling, full stop. The Brothers Grunt. I'll expand {Spoiler}{Spoiler}the mention of (HBO) Max by just saying anything Max since Zaslav. Tape erasures in general. Crappy game show revivals (sup, Card Sharks and Temptation...say, what do they have in common?) Another expansion {Spoiler}{Spoiler}oh, absolutely Ren and Stimpy: APC, and while I'm at it, f*** John K. in general of course. I'd also throw in, ironically, the Games Animation era of the show. LOL not letting The Simpsons die LOL. Shocked no mention of that little special from 1978 with certain sci-fi characters celebrating the holidays. Have we finally roasted that enough?

Yes to 22, Netflix's Arrested Development was awful. Turned Micheal from a flawed voice of reason into being just as stupid and selfish as the other family members, gave the viewer no one to root for.

I strongly disagree with what's #1.
I would have had the HIMYM finale in there

{Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW} Will people get over Freaks and Geeks? It's been over twenty years, move on over its cancellation.

No mention of Fox royally f***ing up their own attempt at a morning show by messing with a quirky, but entertaining morning show on the early days of FX?

With Police Squad and freaks and geeks we're their ratings good enough to justify the quality? Pretty sure freaks wasn't but I know that they f***ed with the schedule

Yeah... I know it has a cult following, but number 1 objectively wasn't a big deal.

No mention of Fox's treatment of Firefly?
And Geraldo should have had 2, hell combine them in the writeup. They should have mentioned him drawing a map showing where the Airborne Division he was traveling with was located, and talking about the operation, on live freaking television. That got him immediately expelled from Iraq.

I think #2 was a little more problematic than Freaks & Geeks being cancelled.

I think #2 was a little more problematic than Freaks & Geeks being cancelled. I would also like to say forcing models into blackface, yellowface and whatever the f*** else is worse than Hillary Duff not getting to reboot her show.

Number one is so f***ing bias, like it felt like it was going well until then but like... why? Maybe somewhere lower on the list but not f***ing one lol
How I Met Your Mother's finale should definitely be on this list, for how popular it was and how bad they botched the ending? Yeah that deserves it.
Two and a Half Men trying to go on without Charlie Sheen also deserves a not for this list, same with That 70's Show trying to go on without Topher Grace until the series finale (And then That 80's Show being a horrific bomb included)
A personal mention for me would probably be Futurama getting cancelled four times and now being on its third Network/Service. At the very least it actually feels like Hulu actually gives a damn about advertising it, never seen the show marketed this hard but it's always had a strong fanbase that it feels like has never been capitalized on. Funny enough, if they had replaced the original voices, like they almost did for the Comedy Central run, and then AGAIN with Bender in the Hulu run, I guarantee it woulda made this list lol

I guess it wasn't a decision they frankly could have known about in retrospect but another mention is Megan Wants a Millionaire ending the lucrative as hell "I Love/Of Love" reality TV franchise Because the show's runner up contestant Ryan Jenkins, and subsequent winner of the unaired but already filmed "I Love Money" season, wound up killing his wife, and then himself, not so much a network blunder as just maybe one of the bigger actual tragedies of reality television. This is one not often talked about but The "I Love" and "Of Love" series were VH1's live blood in that era, and this ended all of them and all of the spinoffs that were created from them. The only one that still finds work I can see is of course Tiffany "New York" Pollard, who was the main proponent of it all spinning off from losing the originator, Flavor of Love. There was a Reunion special in 2020 actually. And there's even a wrestling tie in as it's where we first saw David Otunga, appearing in the show as "Punk" (Ironic) and lasting actually quite awhile in the second season. There's no telling how many more spinoffs there would have had or if it'd still be going today, because every spinoff followed the formula The Bachelor now does, the losers/runners up get their own seasons (Flavor of Love, I Love New York, Real Chance of Love, Megan Wants a Millionaire), they'd spin off the original concept itself (Rock of Love with Brett Michaels) and Bachelor's in Paradise bring back other fan favorite castmembers for another chaotic and romantic stint on the airwaves (I Love Money) Just one of those ones I never really see brought up, but VH1 used to be the sort of B-List reality/dating show drama channel for a long time, now it's morphed more into stuff like Basketball Wives, Black Ink Crew, and for a time, RuPaul's Drag Race, until this year, when MTV scooped it up, funny enough I guess maybe they got tired of too much Ridiculousness too

In a world where wrestling matters Katie Vick would be on the list.

neither Fox passing on The Sopranos and TNT et al passing on Breaking Bad should be on the list, as passing on them led to them going to HBO and AMC and having the creative freedom that made both shows great. had they been on networks like Fox, they would have been drastically altered and mostly likely wouldn't have ended up two of the greatest shows of all time.

Quantum Leap's revival is really good, and they at least tried to get Bakula back but he wasn't interested so it's all on him.
