Wait until they meet FANβs official Alliance of Heritage Cup Haters, Critics and Conscientious Objectors (the live thread).
Seriously, though, may as well hash it outβ¦ Whatβs the issue with the matches? Too many rules? The pauses?
(Was gonna call it a union, but then weβd have to provide health insurance and a superannuation plan, which we legitimately canβt afford)

(Was gonna call it a union, but then weβd have to provide health insurance and a superannuation plan, which we legitimately canβt afford) The multiple round aspect is dumb in wrestling where these guys can go like 15-20 minutes with no real breaks. The constant downtime between rounds sucks any momentum out of it. It doesn't help that WWE constantly says the rules will be significantly more strictly enforced, just for them to ignore it. It also doesn't help that while Meta-Four is entertaining outside of matches, their constant cheating has gotten old months ago. And Noam is constantly either the Heritage Cup champion or contending for it, despite the fact that he is one of the few wrestlers who is better off losing way more often than winning, because he is basically one step removed from being a comedy jobber. The Heritage Cup in NXT UK was deeply unpopular so its baffling why HBK thought it would be popular here as well.

And whatβs the deal with the Heritage Cup? Why do they call it a cup? No one is drinking anything out of it.

Who is on this committee anyway, is it Gallus, is it Tyler Bate, is the ghost of Giant Haystacks or is it the 1989 Denver Broncos?

If they insist on keeping it around, just make them regular 2 out of 3 falls matches and get rid of the dumb rounds system.

Of course, it wouldn't be just a normal tournament.

This was like the one Heritage Cup match that I actually enjoyed a lot, not even just cause Noam finally got the real cup back. Sorry guys I'm British now.

I like it still. I'm not saying the American version so far matches haven't be well not great lol, but the UK Cup matches rarely missed. So this tournament will tell me if it can actually works with these agents and HBK or I go with cut it like most of you.

Of course, it wouldn't be just a normal tournament. Just what the Heritage Cup needs: more convoluted nonsense.

I cannot get into these matches when they canβt ever get going into full gear without having to stop. As always; I propose changing the cup rules to the 15 Minute Match medal they had in FCW.

I love that they're using an entirely separate match format to determine the number one contender for a Heritage Cup match.

The Heritage Cup in NXT UK was deeply unpopular so its baffling why HBK thought it would be popular here as well. It depends what you grew up with. I grew up with wrestling on World Of Sport here in the UK. Virtually every matchs was in rounds (hence the UK Heritage original name of the cup). There were slightly different rules - no five counts, instead you got two public warnings for rule breaking, and them you'd be disqualified. Ten counts if you were down on the canvas and a DQ/Countout ended the match, regardless of falls. Moving from that to the US system of one fall (and jobber squashes) was just as weird, especially as jobber squashes weren't a thing in the UK either. It's going to take time for the bookers and agents to get used to it, but like all wrestling, it's should all be about psychology. You use the end of the rounds to build tension and create heat. Like Noam Dar hitting after the bell, because "he didn't hear it". The babyface has just started their comeback, and the bell goes, killing their momentum and giving the heel a breather. A submission fails because they're saved by the bell. There's loads more, but the bookers and agents need to see how it works with the crowds.
