Wrestletix's final number for tickets distributed was around 83,000. Tickets distributed and tickets sold are obviously two different things. Take away the comps (TK said on the post-show scrum that there were around 10,000 comps) and that leaves around 73,000 sold which matches up perfectly with what Wrestletix reported. Anyone who thought Tony wouldn't exaggerate the number hasn't been a wrestling fan long enough. More than 80,000 people started going to therapy after seeing WM 32 in person. Hell just from watching it at home I needed some kind of help after that Shane/Taker cell match. My most hated match of all time and I don't think anything will ever top (lower?) it for me. Ambrose vs. Lesnar from that show is my most hated match ever, but Shane vs. Taker might be the most boring match I've ever seen. HHH vs. Roman is also an all time stinker. I don't want to get this off topic though, I just had to bring up how bad that show was for a minute.

I’d hate Shane/Taker more if I didn’t turn at one point to someone I was with when Shane had that triangle on and he had the most half moon looking frown I had ever seen. I couldn’t stop laughing until Shane was climbing the cage.

I just looked at the runtime for Shane vs. Undertaker and started laughing like a broken train whistle

This thread is a good indicator of who reads articles and who just gets headlines.
Which, hey, you do you but just saying.

Tony caught with his hand in the cookie jar. A completely trivial thing to be mad about but considering there are two different companies and a "record" at play it's pretty wild...I understand the numbers being off by a few hundred but around 9 thousand people unaccounted for (enough for an entire show) is freakin wild. Guess Khan could have just purchased them to hit the number haha this is ate up but certainly nothing more than pointing at someone and laughing and going "HA HA YOUR RICH"

Tony Khan is a wrestling promoter. He is a liar. They have always been one in the same. I mean, what was the lie? Like, the graphic that flashed on screen was for paid attendance which, as the Wrestlenomics article said, was only a lie in that more tickets were brought than they said. Exaggeration? Sure, I’ll take that and you only hope for all the people to show up for the event they got tickets for but a lie? That feels like a stretch for a point that wasn’t even said in the article in question.

Also the 72k count INCLUDES free comp tickets. Wrestletix had a number of around 3/4k for comps. So this number is implying actual sold was 10k+ off.
The defensive nature of people about this number is funny.

Thanks for proving my initial assessment right lol Legit looking for any reason to say "F*** Tony Khan", when in reality, nothing they said about the event was a lit. 80K plus paid attendance is real and that is the amount of tickets they sold. For one reason or another they all didn't show up for the event in total. Which happens likely for every event ever held in the history of events. But once again, thanks for proving why you're here, it's never for any good intentions.

I refuse to believe the paid attendance number was 81,035.
I think the actual paid attendance number was something closer to 81,042.

AEW in the mud, Tony's a liar bitch etc. Believe what you want, it's not worth the headache. This is the exact type of stuff I was afraid this thread would produce, it wasted no time.

Two things;
1) chill out. This is not worth some of the posts people are having and I’m not afraid to give people breaks about it.
2) I’ll say again; read the article. They still sold that many tickets, that is not a lie. In the same way the estimate for WM32 that WWE said to its shareholders wasn’t a lie, just never gave a definitive number to (which does make it a problem in figuring things out fully but nothing new with how these things are tracked in America). It’s all in there, no reason for me to disbelieve Wrestlenomics on this stuff.
