It had to be Cole, the biggest issue I see is because Cole got hurt, and we lost the MJF/Cole dynamic on TV every week, it became less about look at this guy pretending to be his best friend and changing him, and more about "This angle is too long and we need to do something about it".

So having had time to come to terms with the heartbreak, it's a weird move to end the storyline when neither guy can wrestle. But it's better than stringing it along any further.

Pretty sure the plan was always to have the reveal at the ppv and have Max take time off, but both guys being as hurt as they were changed a lot of how things were going to be done. |

Adam Cole makes sense regarding his history with MJF and the rest of the group as well. It's a bit underwhelming since it was probably the very first that came to mind and there was no big surprise in the end.

The twist everyone saw coming.
It makes sense, and circumstances conspired against them but it would have been nice if there had been a little more sizzle at the end...
In all honesty, I'd have made it Britt though. Gives her something new to do, easy to make it make sense and gives it a bit of a twist still.

Considering all the flack this angle has received combined with the news that after the success of the C2 AEW are going to be a more sports centric product. I will praise them on the execution of this angle last night.
There was no hokey messages on the screen. They didn't have the Devils henchmen attack anyone back stage. They didn't interfere with the match. They literally just had then come out post match, beat up MJF and remove masks. Even Cole chucking the mask on MJF seemed a bit symbolic and saying 'you wont be seeing this anymore'

I’m kinda disappointed Strong, Taven & Bennett are in this group because they are goofs basically. Far more fun as goofs than bland vanilla serious heels. Please don’t change Strong’s character. As for the pay off it’s hard to see where we go if Max is hurt enough that he needs time off. If Cole is still hurt as well that leaves the other 4 to pick up the slack and feud with the other guys they attacked I guess (White, Page, Acclaimed & Daddy Ass). White already feels more big time without The Gunns & Juice but not sure if I want him as a face. Gonna have to disagree with Switchblade looking better without Juice and the Ass Boys. They have been great as the backup for White and they have been sorely missed over the last month, especially Robinson. But agree with Strong and the Kingdom. Roddy "The Simp" Strong has been one of the best things about AEW this fall and this has been the most entertaining The Kingdom have ever been. If they just end up as goons then that is such a waste. |

Will say, the idea of MJF vs Cole at All In 2023 as best friends and then MJF vs Cole at All In 2024 as bitter enemies is quite cool

This gave me CM Punk joins the Nexus vibes.
I did not want it to be Cole. I loved them together and figured they had a lot left as best buddies together. I think the Devil should not have actually been 1 person but a collective of wrestlers so you never knew who it really was. Wardlow as part of it makes sense and so does the Kingdom but I wish they pivoted to using someone else.

I'm curious what kind of heel Cole will be this time around. Ever since NXT, he's basically been the same guy. Does the BOOM and BAY BAY stuff which usually gets a lot of cheers. I don't think he has to be a dark/brooding heel because that would likely suck but I do think he should try to find more range for this run.

Wonder if Cole is healthy enough to appear on tv more regularly now. I expect MJF to be gone for a long time but if Cole is off too it could be quite hard to maintain the feuds momentum

I'm still on the fence about whether he genuinely has upper midcard/top guy potential or whether it was just the MJF story that made it seem that way. While Cole is still out of action, make Wardlow the wrestling focus and see how he does.

He definitely deserves another run and if anybody becomes a star from this stable I hope it's him and none of the Kingdom I think the issue was also that Wardlow got over by destroying people, he won the belt had a few good matches, but then got saddled in a feud with Lethal to set up a 6 man, where I'm still convinced the plan was to have Wardlow powerbomb Satnam but for various reasons the plans changed and... he never recovered... then he got put into a quasi feud/quasi team with Joe that got Joe's mojo back but did nothing to Wardlow... then QTV happened Also |
