As we all know, in the end because of the Cain signing, Brock and him were already set in stone for the Saudi show so Kofi had to drop it.
Say WWE doesn't sign Cain, so Brock goes no where near the WWE title in 2019, how do you end the title reign?
You could start with Big E turning on Kofi and we get a feud where E gets to the WWE title quicker and Kofi drops it to his friend around Survivor Series or The Rumble.
Then there's the 2020 Royal Rumble. He is forced and ordered to defend the title in the Rumble match itself. This is a way to get the title off Kofi, but keep him very strong since he isn't pinned at all here. And the guy who eliminates him gets the Mania feud with Kofi while a new champion is crowned to free up the title if need be. Or the other Rumble option is, while he DOESN'T defend the title like Brock in 2020, he's still in the match. He's eliminated and gets his new feud for the title. Drew still wins the Rumble. We get Drew vs. Kofi at Wrestlemania 36. One mega face puts over another one and Kofi gets through one year as champion.
You could go with the option of an actual regular match at the Rumble where Kofi goes against Brock in a cash in match, booked in advance. Brock wins here. Drew wins Rumble. We still get the Brock vs. Drew for the title. Kofi loses with his dignity in tact with a competitive match.
Kofi could lose the belt at Elimination Chamber to Brock. Drew still challenges Brock at Wrestlemania still as planned.
Kofi gets to Wrestlemania 36 and defends the title and drops it to someone other than Big E, Brock or Drew.
It could be one of these ideas. It could be something else you have in mind.
But what was the proper way to end Kofi-Mania's title reign?

Loses it in a competitive match to Lesnar instead of jumping onto the shoulders of Beastie Boy with gusto for the F5 soon as the bell rings.

And I wish it was at the Rumble, so Kofi get's one last proper title defense in front of 40,000 instead of a throwaway TV show. He earned it to defend it infront of a big crowd.

I would have had Lesnar squash him, but in a much longer match. Kofi being competitive with Lesnar isn't realistic.

Losing it to Brock was fine, I guess, just not the way that he did. That's how you end some annoying chickenshit heel's reign, not someone who had one of the most feel good title wins ever. My goodness, let the guy hit a couple Trouble in Paradises at least.

Or at least get a rematch and do a competitive match there

I'm not upset that it happened to Brock only that it happened so quickly as it killed off any chance of Kofi ever being in the title picture again.

Lose to Lesnar in a dope 15 minute competitive match. That's all that's needed.

The way Kofi lost made him look like a bitch, and the aftermath didn't exactly help too, Kofi went back to tagging with Big E and Xavier and with the exception of one moment where he crushed a pancake in frustration, never really changed his attitude, never got angry and never even asked for a rematch.

If it had to be Brock, he should've kept MITB til fall and done a cheap cash in since that was the beginning of the end of his heel persona and his last title reign, have him start it with his cheapest and worst win in kayfabe instead of Kofi just randomly turning into a jobber with an attribute overall of 12.

Would’ve kept the heat on Brock for the crowning of Drew McIntyre without making Kofi look like a bitch.

I don't mind the squash or to Brock but I would have had it come after a build of him being a fighting champ and that taken his toll on him. Like have Paul (I think he was still working with Brock at the time) goad Kofi into the match with Brock following a title match against say Drew where Kofi he barely escapes.

I get having Brock beat him but I think I would have had Kofi beat a few more legit challengers before it happened.

Not having it be a squash entirely to set up a two minute Saudi Arabia match for someone who was pretty much immediately fired afterward would do it.

It was slim pickings beyond the people he actually DID beat (Bryan, Owens, Zayn, Ziggler, Joe and Orton). Maybe an extended feud with Styles possibly (who he did defend against in a triple threat), but other than that…? Most of the big company fave heels were on RAW.
