AEW wins the first ever Slapjack Award. How dare you Besmirch the name of Hollywood Slapjack. We have/had the Golden Snowcone's... >-> I don't remember if EoE: Well There's Your Problem had like an overall worst category like the Gooker. “Most Embarrassing Moment” usually ended up being the “This bad real-life thing happened and I hate it” award for those.

I haven't really watched AEW in two months, but this is still very disappointing. I get bringing him in a few times as a favor to Sting; who doesn't forget what people do for him even if they are sleazy, reprehensible people. But multi-year? Pretty gross. Very hard for me to trust Tony's judgement at this point.

Most embarrasing moment will now be NWA losing their tv deal because of the cocaine spot lol

I didn't realise it was the weekend of the Saudi show so between the blood money PPV and AEW signing Flair, it's a bad few days to be a wrestling fan. It's also a timely reminder to not expect morals from pro wrestling companies when they think there is money to be made.

I'd suggest reading up on what the Saudi shows are actually promoting as I'm sure the board rules mean I can't get into it.

I don’t really care for the behind the screens political mumble jumble that goes on with these events. As a fan, I just mainly care about the on scenes product and imo, WWE delivered tonight. And the way I see it, Iam sure there are alot of Saudi WWE fans who are thrilled to get WWE once or twice a year so they can watch live as a fan. Why robbed them of that?

I'd be all in (no pun intended) on WWE doing a show in Saudi Arabia on their own initiative for the fans. Taking money from the government to promote the county and sportswash the human rights issues is something completely different. Now I'm going to back away from this conversation because it's not only skirting close to the board rules, but it is pulling this thread off topic.

Pretty sad time for wrestling when Ric Flair being signed to a company is only the second most morally abhorrent thing to happen this week.

Very hard for me to trust Tony's judgement at this point. It says a lot about tony. That he doesn’t care, or believe there is no merit, to the “lots of elders..” complaint. That he’s just as much a hypocrite as anyone else when it comes to “progressive values” and, that ultimately, he really is a mark, Cause as others have said Flair brings little to no value for a span of 2 years. Best case scenario? He’s just a really good friend to Ric. And that’s worked out so well for others in the past. that’s not even touching the “bitch” complaints, good lord.

This is what actually white knighting for a company looks like, just throwing that out there You could at the very least be slightly aware that coming in here and trying to defend the Saudi WWE show because "It was good" while ignoring everything else wasn't exactly the best idea Trying to downplay why people hate the show and the entire reason people hate the Saudi Arabia deal isn't it dude. You aren't gonna win anyone over with this kind of rhetoric. Enjoy WWE, no one's stopping you, trying to go to bat on them when it isn't even the WWE Board let alone calling Saudi stuff "Political mumble jumble" is just... bad. Like that is just complete ignorance to try and argue a point that doesn't need to be argued, at all. All that aside, Logan Paul also won a title on that same show, and that also made this week even worse for me personally tbh.

Whenever someone tries to frame "running propaganda shows that explicitly happen with the intended goal of painting Saudi Arabia in a different light and often act as straight-up tourism ads is bad" arguments as "Saudi Arabian WWE fans don't deserve shows" I throw up in my mouth a little bit. But I guess it's a good temperature check on the reasons why a lot of crowds are going to cheer for Ric Flair week after week.

Most people on this board don't fall into this category, but wrestling fans are always wrestling fans, and if you give them what they want, they tend to ignore the bad stuff. It's been going on forever; if AEW signed Ric Flair two years ago, it's not met with the same reaction, and the Saudi shows somehow got less offensive once it couldn't be used as something to ding Vince for, who, for all his faults that people knew for years; had the biggest fault of being a bad booker.

they will eventually have to make an example of somebody for collaborating with the state over these immoral wrestling events and throw them in jail for an unfair amount of time in a maximum security prison and that person IMO should be? The Miz

Ric, I don't think you should be allowed on a plane again, for a number of easily understandable reasons. Ric, that's the gimmick of FTR Hair, stop stealing. Though you signing did take a lot of attention off him. I doubt TBS would want a live murder broadcast.
See above why Tony won't let you wrestle.
