I wonder what kind of bad blood will eventually transpire. Flair never leaves a company on good terms and there's usually some kind of litigation in the end. I guess it'll be related to the energy drink deal. Like he'll claim they didn't promote it enough or something. WWE - Thought he deserved financial compensation over Becky Lynch using "The Man" and threatened legal action and called her out for 2-3 years. WCW - Walked out with their world title and they had to file a lawsuit to get it back. TNA - Threw a hissy fit because he wanted out of his contract to go to WWE and TNA filed suit against WWE immediately after. ROH - Got paid in advance for shows, no-showed them and didn't return the money then ROH sued to get their money back. I don't think they ever got it but hey, since he now works for them again in a way maybe Tony can dock the owed money from his first payment. I think HHH eventually paid ROH the money he owed them Yeah, when WWE brought Ric back HHH reportedly covered a ton of his debts to promotions Ric owed money to for deals he flaked on and belts he held onto. It's part of how he managed to be such a scumbag abut things that he actually is the bad guy in his recent years of dealing with WWE. A lot of money was thrown around to cover for him and tidy up the problems he left in his wake.

Well that kills the rumor of Andrade and Charlotte breaking up
This is why you don't take passive aggressive social media activity as the gospel. Could've just been a fight and they reconciled. Could've been a nothingburger.

Maybe hiring an inanimate husk possessed by what's effectively a ghost in order to confusingly shill mushrooms is AEW's Super Mario RPG tie-in.

Leaving aside all the terrible shit Ric's done that is public knowledge... and Tony mocking Vince for similar things....
The bigger issue is... what can Ric really do at this point?
He can't wrestle, and he hasn't been RIC FLAIR on the mic in years...
besides that... he's always been THE star... he's never really had to try and get someone else over nor does it seem like something he's going to be particularly interested in doing so.

Ric since 84 has never taken a step back for another. He has to be in the spotlight and main focus

Flair undoubtedly added a lot to Triple H's interminable Reign of Terror and made him feel big time but his charisma and promo skills are a shell of what they were for various reasons, so I can't see anyone getting a rub from him even if he doesn't wrestle.

And wasn't it not long after Triple H's cardiac event that Flair complained about not hearing from Hunter? It's so comically self-centered that there kinda stop being words to describe it but yes. Flair had such a falling out with Hunter over the Becky Lynch thing that it destroyed their relationship; he'd trademark trolled, WWE bought it off of him outright, and he was still being a nightmare about it and trying to run into court to fight for it back after they paid him for it. Like yeah no shit the guy who justh ad heart problems and has been told to avoid stress doesn't wanna talk to your dumb ass you f***ing vulture.

Flair elevated plenty of people since 1984, a lot more than Hogan ever did.

Yeah that was his legends run when he still had something to give. That evolution run started 20 years ago. Nick Wayne wasn't even born. I don't usually like getting too hung up on age because many old guys still have something to give but as Flair doesn't it just makes it extra glaring that he doesn't fit.

If we're talking from when he was an in ring competitor absolutely... but the spotlight was still on him to a degree the narrative being that guy could beat/hang with Flair he must be the real deal. But from a managerial stand point, I just don't see him being happy not being the center of attention.

Yeah, I enjoy 2002-2008 Ric, like that was a perfect career cap for him. Being in Evolution, giving shine to Triple H, Bastia, and Orton. Some decent matches and promos, stuff with Piper, and of course the HBK/Flair match was amazing. But since then? It's been a whole lot of nothing, with the biggest high point being Fortune in TNA and he's nowhere near as entertaining or fun on the mic now as he was then.

I think we could be looking at AEW's first proper gooker moment if they allow Flair to wrestle.
Not a conversation we should be having in 2023.

I think we need a new name for the Gooker since the site that came up with that term gookered itself by sucking up to Vince Russo.

How dare you Besmirch the name of Hollywood Slapjack. We have/had the Golden Snowcone's... >-> I don't remember if EoE: Well There's Your Problem had like an overall worst category like the Gooker.

But onto serious matters - the Bitch Award 2023 is still Tony's right? Surely this signing puts him miles ahead of whoever is second (Cody?)
