Hogan SAID terrible things but Ric DID terrible things which IMO is always worse. Yeah I don’t even think it’s debatable. Saying racist things is certainly terrible, but it’s not on the level of actually sexually assaulting someone. And I hasten to add, Hogan said that shit in private and it got leaked. And the black talent who worked with him all said he was respectful with them. Most of the people who hated Hogan are other white guys, including people like Warrior who deliberately, publicly said the shit that Hogan kept behind closed doors. |

People turn down problematic sponsors or donations all the time. Even if he isn't costing you a dime it doesn't mean associating with him is excusable.

If AEW had a lot of sponsors instead of just Draftkings(not exactly a great sponsor) and woooo then yeah.

I need to stress again how sleazily bordering on money laundering it is to arrange a deal where Ric gets an AEW contract but AEW pays him with money they receive from this company everything about this is so slimy, I can't take enough showers to handle Ric Flair in AEW

it's technically a different television show when Ric Flair is on screen like how RAW and WAR ZONE were different, it's fine, he has his own three minute show on TNT that airs potentially three times a week for five minutes at a time during someody elses TV show, we don't pay him, we don't know him

Is whatever they're getting paid worth cheapening the look of their show, the bad pr, reputational damage, making Sting's retirement worse, losing a point of differentiation from the competition etc?
Is it worth the risk that it doesn't boost sales of Flair fungus and as a result puts off other potential sponsors?
Maybe. Everyone has a price. I just can't believe that it's anywhere near. I might not like stuff like the Yakuza street fight or Texas chainsaw match but at least they're one offs.
