If they do end up losing the deal then that is the dumbest shit since TNA lost their TV deal due to secretly re-hiring Russo against Spike's wishes then accidentally letting it slip in an email. Russo let it slip by emailing the wrong Brian. But since it's Russo I also wouldn't put it passed him that he did it on purpose, angry that he wasn't getting credit for his genius ideas. Wrong Mike, actually. Commentary instructions meant for Mike Tenay that got sent to Mike Johnson at PWInsider. It's. It's certainly weird to imaigne the secret writer of the show is regularly emailing tips and instructions to the commentary team, but that would only make the idea Russo did it on purpose more compelling.

Hausman's a bullshit artist, but this would be hilarious and karma for ol' Pumpkins to lose that TV deal off a stupid bit during an awful-sounding PPV.

I'm shocked Hausman didn't involve CM Punk in the story somehow, like CW were also trying to back out of the deal because he wasn't there, and their grand dream of "CW Punk" was over

Never forget the first Billy Corgan episode of Impact where Beatdown Clan vs. The Rising just out of f***ing nowhere became intensely racial and afterwards was never ever like that again. Billy Corgan's idea of LETS GET THE PEOPLE TALKING is otherworldly.

I really am becoming convinced that Billy Corgan struck it big in the 90's by being right place, right time, with just enough skill and inspiration to make a fortune.
Because he's been stupid as hell since as both a musician and booker.

Even Vince Russo would think this was a stupid idea.

Really pushing fore guys to do coke for literally no reason on your PPV is the most Billy Corgan thing in the world. This man is built on a foundation of just the worst possible ideas and I f***ing love this. He finally got away from Tyrus and all the bad ideas he had there, and he immediately threw away a TV deal. Crazy. Dude looked at the heat that happened for the MVP n word promo and went "no no hold on I have worse ideas in me than this" That MVP promo was Billy's idea? 🤦‍♂️

I get that they don’t know anything about wrestling…but man…the NWA roster is somehow remarkably underwhelming in an era where there is so much talent that AEW dark matches and Impact preshow matches have great talent on it. Shit….even MLW brings in interesting outsiders. The roster isn't bad, and there's a lot that they can do with what they have, but Billy Corgan is f***ing dreadful with creative. He's simultaneously trying to be ECW and old school NWA with a very questionable eye for what makes a star (I;E Tyrus being the #1 Babyface for the past year, passing on guys like Eddie Kingston, etc.). When did the NWA pass on Kingston? Kingston was there when the NWA relaunched until the pandemic.

The lesson here is that Billy Corgan should really just be the business guy and let other people handle creative for the show. Sadly guys think they can book just because it's their company and they're the money behind it. Even though most of their ideas suck. Like Vince the last 10 years he was in charge of creative. Or Tony Khan currently.

Because he's been stupid as hell since as both a musician and booker. Unfortunately that’s not exclusive to Billy Corgan. Lots of rich/famous/successful people have one great idea or worse one incredible stroke of luck to get to where they are. Then they spend the rest of their lives lecturing people with their f***ing awful ideas.

You can have a long run like say peak Simpsons but it won't last forever. In current TV wrestling this is magnified by the insane number of hours produced a week. They can book for a while but at some point they have to take a break and hand it over to someone else for an extended period. They can have another go later and the cycle starts again.

Hausman's a bullshit artist, but this would be hilarious and karma for ol' Pumpkins to lose that TV deal off a stupid bit during an awful-sounding PPV. That bit where Hausman reported "Well they were told what happened on PPV wouldn't matter" is like, signature Hausman stuff where he's definitely getting this scoop from somebody, and has zero filter to process that the dumbass mopey complaint he's been fed should probably keep off of the page. It makes me firmly believe Hausman is getting this story from someone pretty high in NWA, just because there is no Hausman move greater than that.

Tbf what did CW expect? Nwa is the old school throwback brand and what says old school wresting more than copious amounts of cocaine? While back that talent maybe on the stuff they never where on the TV shows snoring it up. Anyway on topic this has to be the stupidest thing I ever seen someone do. Billy Pumpkins is proven to be an idiot to think a Cocaine spot was ever a good idea but more so doing it with a TV deal was about to launch and could have made the NWA something again.
