Might be even bigger, as she for all her blunders and idiocy never lost a TV slot to another promotion

According to Mike Johnson, NXT might get the CW deal instead of NWA. If that’s the case, Billy Corgan might actually rival Dixie Carter as the owner with the biggest TV fumble. Hilarious if true. But as dumb as it was to give the segment the green light, was it so egregious that The CW can back out of an agreed to and announced deal because of it? Sure the NWA had already started making some investments in production and promotion in anticipation of it. Feels more like the CW would have to pay them to go away at that point than just being able to say "changed our minds".

They could have some kind of morality clause or anything like it that would have been more than enough of an excuse to scrap the deal.

NWA will get relegated to the CW app then, Corgan indirectly helped NXT turning a profit once CW/NXT deal is 100% official.

So the news report said CW and WWE have been negotiating for "weeks". That mean the cocaine spot didn't really play a role here? Unless CW was thinking of having both shows, or were choosing between the two of them depending on how much money they were seeking?

Billy Corgan might be the worst wrestling promoter of the last 30 years, and that's a really impressive mantle to take because there are some awful people on that list
But you screwed your company out of its biggest exposure in years after running it into the ground with f***ing Tyrus, I hope wrestlers ditch this promotion after this tbh
And even if CW didn't choose NXT over them after this event, they still chose NXT and dropped them after it, and that's a really bad look
This promotion's a hollow shell of itself and has been for ages now, and Corgan blew the one shot they may have had to turn that image around, and he blew it, well, he snorted it.

Another report said that CW were scouting many wrestling promotions to fill the spots so I guess it could be argued WWE made the best argument and Corgan’s mistake was being the one to leak that they were apparently the top choice when they very much weren’t.

Could we see NWA end up on FS1 now as a result? Or worse FS2?

I still say that regardless, Corgan comes out of this looking like a giant idiot Can't really dodge that report that CW saw the cocaine angle and balked. There's a chance CW signed both NXT and NWA to different deals for their channel and Corgan just screwed the pooch.

Yeah, he's an idiot for talking shit and running the angle, but it feels pretty apparent it didn't play that much of a role in this instance. WWE has never let other promotions run on the same network as them.
