Well things are about to get interesting. Look what Abema announced on twitter just now. "WWE Supershow Summer Tour announced!!" Three Japan shows announced for July - July 25th at the Edion Arena #1 in Osaka, July 26th and 27th at the Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo  And a reminder that MariGold has their first ppv on the 13th. Okay I'll hop on the joshi train from this moment, amazing! KAIRI is ATM my fave, as I don't know that many stars to be honest. ' will defintely observe the recent scene a ' bit. |

Like is it that much of a bad thing that they lost last night. Even though Damage Ctrl went 0-2 last night, IYO only lost her match via rollup and neither Dakota nor Kairi were pinned in the fatal 4-way tag match, so all in all, it was probably the best outcome for Damage Ctrl since a win would've meant another "feud" between them and "The Devourer of Worlds" Bianca Belair.

July is looking hella important for the Joshi scene in general.
MariGolds first big ppv
Giulia's potential WWE debut
Now an announced WWE Japan tour
And then there is of course the potential WWE and MariGold crossover with IYO and KAIRI working that ppv on the 13th as Rossy wants.
How the Japanese talent is portrayed leading up to that tour is gonna be very interesting because one has to think this is gonna be testing the waters for a future PLE probably next year.

Especially Dakota and KAIRI. Get them as far away as possible from Bianca Belair!
I was ok with the IYO loss too, but I disagree with the "It was a rollup". I'm sure that was the intention, but I think the way that match played out made IYO look bad. So we have Lyra the newbie vs IYO the veteran. In that match, Lyra countered everything IYO did. Countered the moonsault 3 times. The closing sequence was not a surprise roll up. It was them chain wrestling and Lyra being better at it and countering for the pin.
A rare complaint, but I think they gave them too much time for that match. It was a case of poor story telling, unless the story was that Lyra is that damn good. In which case it was fine, but did no favors for IYO. It would have been a better ending for IYO had she gone for the moonsault one time, ate a boot and got rolled up. A simple single mistake that can be corrected next time. The way the match did play out Lyra is not only scrappier, she is also the better technician, so what can IYO do next time? Cheat, I guess.
It's not that big of a deal because we got to see IYO win two excellent matches (albeit against lesser opposition, but it was clean wins in great matches on TV nonetheless) she can bounce back super easy. They even gave her the little spot where she got in Lyra's face at the end.

Fans online are starting to appreciate Dakota Kai and are bringing in fan signs to support her, which WWE's IG page have started to acknowledge; IYO Sky has been getting good reactions throughout the QotR tournament to the point where she was getting cheered over Lyra last night, despite being Heel; and last night during the closing moments of the tag match, the fans were clapping along with Kairi Sane's "Walking the Plank" spot. It's been mentioned before, but Damage Ctrl are like the least Heelish Heel faction around. They may be opportunistic, but for the most part they usually fight fair. IYO fighting her WM & QotR matches on her own; Kabuki Warriors fighting their matches on their own, even Dakota has been fighting on her own(vs Lyra & vs Bianca as well as last night teaming with Kairi Sane). Compare them to Judgement Day and the Bloodline who's matches are overbooked with run-ins galore. |
