I still think Dakota is going to turn on Bayley but it’s probably best she doesn’t since that leaves Bayley in a 4 on 1 situation with no backup. Maybe Naomi might back her up but wouldn’t make much sense for Bianca or Shotzi too. I absolutely think the turn is coming, and it kinda does make sense for a turn, unless the plan is to continue to make Iyo, Asuka, and Kairi look completely ineffective until Mania, where Bayley goes over. Because the past two weeks have been those three getting ran off and looking incredibly bad. If that's how this feud is going to be structured heading into Mania (the heels constantly getting beat down and chased off every week), then I wouldn't be shocked if Iyo and Kairi end up heading to Rossy's new promotion sooner rather than later, because so far this feud has done nothing except make Bayley look good and Iyo, Kairi, and Asuka look like absolute geeks. This is why I'm adamantly against Bayley winning at this point. She's a made woman already, and the 4HW are already established names. Iyo is not, and has been booked exceptionally poorly despite being the champion. This feeds into a point I made earlier about how Asian talents are treated significantly more poorly than a lot of other minorities in the company.

Asuka is the only member of the team worth anything. Even she is not that strong. She struggles every fight, and only sometimes pulls through.
IYO is about the same level as Zelina. She may have a belt, but she is presented as very weak.
Kairi is a straight up jobber scrub. If we're being nice we can call her a "tag team specialist".
In the two altercations thus far, all three of them were beaten off by one person; albeit with a weapon.
If you factor in Bayley's face power boost, the Joshis are probably the ones that could use backup lol.

Slightly off topic but it does really surprise me how most of the time on the main roster Kairi has been a heel who is usually portrayed as rather weak. She is such a natural loveable babyface that could be a bigger deal if they ever decide to go that way but so far she is pretty much the weakest link of Damage control and the Kabuki warriors who offers very little other then being a lackey and whom needs to constantly cheat. If anyone needs a face turn it is her because she really is the last in the pecking order in the group. Cant see Dakota remain helping with Bayley and reckon she will betray who soon enough.

Damage CTRL likers have to be giddy right now, Dakota is so turning heel at Mania and costing Bayley the title. This might go for a long time.

My fav part is all these little touches they are throwing in that allow them to take the story in any direction they want to and aren't completely set on one path. I love that Bayley and IYO have not hit eachother and each looks hesitant and this ups the emotional aspect because on one hand Bayley clearly respects and wants IYO as her friend and IYO feels the same but this also ties into the next portion. They keep bringing up that Asuka and KAIRI have gotten into IYO's head which makes sense now and can make sense going forward....Asuka and KAIRI have it out for Bayley and KAIRI is IYO's best friend so she would definetly have IYO's ear to keep reminding her what Bayley did to her and thus manifesting that hate for Bayley. It is at a simmer right now but I think as we get closer to Mania we are gonna see IYO start questioning Asuka and KAIRI and maybe have a little sympathy for Bayley only for something to happen within the last 2-3 weeks before Mania through clever manipulation where IYO just snaps on Bayley and just mauls her. There are alot of layers of betrayl here that could be so so much fun if they commit to it all.

I do find it very hard to root against the Joshis because they look so damn cool. Sane especially just looks like a megastar with her current look.

You got people thinking that Dakota is the mastermind running things from the shadows. But, you can also go in the direction of the Kabuki Warriors being behind all this with how they're emphasizing how IYO's changed since they joined up and that this is a way for them to get their revenge on Bayley. Or you can go with IYO being the one behind all this, who knew about the Kabuki Warriors' sentiment towards Bayley and did nothing to quell it because she too harbors the same resentment and animosity towards Bayley as they do. Basically, contrary to what Bayley and Dakota said in their promos, IYO did not change when the Kabuki Warriors joined the ranks, this is how she had always felt about Bayley all along.

And what's always stood out to me and I do not remember if they have ever addressed it but Asuka joining Dmg Cntrl on her own. I do not believe they have ever addressed why she did it...and if they haven't I hope they address it because that seem's like a pretty vital plot hole even if the audience can piece together she did it because of KAIRI but it would still just be an assumption and if they run the narrative that KAIRI and Asuka turned IYO against Bayley you can kind of layer it that KAIRI was brought in by Dakota and IYO with honest intention to strengthen Dmg Cntrl but then Asuka joining basically threw that out and Asuka got into KAIRI's head and then that lead to turning IYO against Bayley.

Maybe Naomi might back her up but wouldn’t make much sense for Bianca or Shotzi too. If you stop and think about it if Dakota turns she really will have no backup. Michin was teasing a Heel turn in last week's WWE Exclusive video where she was ranting and raving about all the people using her as a "stepping stone"; couple that with Charlotte and Shotzi's injury, that just only leaves Bianca/Bayley/Zelina/Naomi as the only Faces on the SD brand. Zelina will likely be busy with the LWO/Legado feud especially once Rey Mysterio returns; Naomi will likely feud with Tiffany Stratton. And Bianca I think will probably feud with Jade Cargill(Bianca's emphasis on her WM "Un-De-Fea-Ted" streak has me thinking Jade will end up snapping it). Though one of the reasons I don't want Dakota to turn Heel is I worry it then turns into a Bayley & random friends vs Damage Ctrl feud. We have had enough of that the past couple years with Damage Ctrl vs Bianca, Damage ctrl vs Becky and even to a lesser extent Damage Ctrl vs Charlotte.

I think a problem though at the end of the day is that the Joshis need to actually look strong at some point as well. If its just Bayley (and maybe Dakota) dumpsters them at every turn, all it does is make Iyo, Asuka, and Kairi look incredibly bad and weak, putting them in a bad spot.

Two straight years of Bianca beating them up at every turn tells me they don't care if they look weak. Before Damage CTRL, Asuka came back, got one (unclean) win over Becky, then she consistently jobbed to Becky, Bianca, and Rhea for all of 2022. Then she came back with some face paint, struggled to get a win over Chelsea, got a win over Liv in an awful match where the focus was outside, barely squeaked by in the Elimination Chamber full of no-hopers, and some people (foolishly) thought she was going to win against Bianca at Wrestlemania.
So, they certainly don't care much about people looking weak, unless it's Bianca, Charlotte or Rhea. Those are NEVER allowed to look any slightest bit of weak. As for anyone else, they think they can give them a 3 week push to prepare them to be eaten again.

It is largely why I hate this whole world beaters thing WWE has been obsessed with for a good few years now. But also it is what makes IYO's title reign so easy and not tiresome because she isn't a world beater...she is beatable and has taken pins so it gives this sense of actual stakes to when she defends her title because it is not this set in stone thing that she will retain.....the big issue is THEY BARELY f***ING LET HER ACTUALLY WRESTLE! and it baffles me , the woman is a god tier performer that makes any woman better and hasn't gotten a ppv singles match since gawd damn Backlash and hasn't wrestled on TV since beating Mia Yim at the beginning of the year...like WTF.

I will forever be salty that we never got a proper IYO vs Asuka big match. They had the Smackdown match which was a good TV match, but the commercials ruin it. Then when it came time for the PLE match Charlotte had to Charlotte all over it, and it kind of sucked.

It's not even just Iyo who doesn't get televised matches often anymore. Ripley, the other women's champion, has been the same way for a while. They don't have to wrestle every week, obviously, but it's still weird for both of them to mainly wrestle on house shows now, usually against the same opponents anyway.

Yeah and pretend to be shocked, but Iyo never defends the title on house shows either. She's always losing in some variation of a tag match against the babyfaces on Smackdown, even if Bianca isn't involved. The one week she WASN'T involved during the house show tour, they brought over Becky instead to run over them. Meanwhile Rhea beats people every house show she actually wrestles on. WWE is just way too afraid to have their top babyfaces lose (even clean) at all, unless its a match with Rhea. It's especially egregious on the Smackdown side, though. And in the case of Iyo, they basically give her absolutely no agency, which is appalling, since there are accusations among fans now of her having no charisma, and no heat floating around now. Because they refuse to let her act on her own, she's always playing second fiddle to another woman.
