When D-X invaded the WCW. They mention Hall and Nash.

On a WCW ppv in '92, Sting was on his way to the ring and JR talked about how he's beaten wrestlers like Ric Flair, Lex Luger and Sid Vicious aka people currently in the WWF.

Brandi telling Ethan Page they only signed him to get to Josh Alexander is the funniest thing she ever said

Related with WCW, I think I remember some videos (I THINK around the time the nWo angle was just starting up) where it showed some WCW stars beating up former WCW stars that were now in WWF. Pretty sure Johnny B. Badd was in one.

Cena just called Solo Sikoa a bargain basement Taz ripoff on Smackdown a few weeks ago.

Joe Hendry's "Edge's Bitch" song dedicated to Matt Cardona and Brian Myers. Recently updated to "Adam's Bitch" to reflect a recent change of employment. 😛

Didnt the Edge and Christian show do a reference to the Bullet Club on one episode?

I feel like they'd do that sometimes, like I swear I remember reading once like maybe a year after Nash debuted in the WWF WCW ran like a "classic match of the week" on one of the C syndicated shows showing Vinnie Vegas getting jobbed out.

X Pac also mentioned Hall and Nash during his WWF return promo. He said that WCW was holding them hostage, and I think the comment led to a lawsuit?
I only remember this hazily, but someone in WCW - I'm sure it was in conjunction with Vince Russo having just been brought in but I'm not sure if it was Russo himself - took a shot at WCW itself (I don't remember if Bischoff was specified) for having released Steve Austin.

Those were WCW's response to the Billionaire Ted Wrasslin War Room sketches, which were another example of this category with blatant over the top references to Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage.

In the build to MITB 2011 Cena referenced Hogan who was in TNA at the time. When Vince threatened to fire him he said something like "maybe I'll go work somewhere else, brother."
During the same storyline Punk brought up Chris Masters and maybe a couple other wrestlers who had been released.

Stu Hart and Larry Hennig have already been mentioned. I know Jesse seemed to like to mention fathers. I wonder if Stu and Larry went to WWF PPVs. I know Larry was at Summerslam 1992, not sure about Stu. He was at 1991. I wonder if WWF had some family members who were wrestlers attend other PPVs on their dime or just the special events.

Pretty sure Johnny B. Badd was in one. Tony Schiavone mentioned Badd at Uncensored that year. He brought up that Badd was supposed to be DDP’s opponent that night, then sarcastically said “well, I guess he couldn’t hang with where the big boys play!” During a Vinnie Vegas match, Jesse Ventura said “why is it that every guy I know named Vinnie always has lousy suits and bad hair?” (Yeah, the other Vinnie isn’t technically a wrestler but he’s stepped into the ring more than once.)

He had to have been at Wrestlemania IV or V given an Owen prank Bret told-I'm guessing V given Owen was there as Blazer.

Punk calling MJF a less-famous Miz on AEW. It was pretty sweet seeing Miz respond on social media to say MJF is much better than he was at that age and singing his praises, and MJF sort of breaking character to give a sincere "Thank you" in response.

At Starrcade 95, one of the commentators makes a snide comment at the recently shut down SMW saying "They dont have any wrestling in the Smokey Mountains".

I forget what Mania it was, and I forget it was in reference to Stu or Larry the Axe, but Jesse asks Gorilla if he ever knew them and Gorilla said he did and says a few nice words. Jesse always had serious respect for the Harts. He was invited to the Dungeon and said "No f***ing way". Imagine his pedigree and saying the Dungeon was more than he could handle, even his kayfabe personae, Frogman in Vietnam, bodyguard for the Stones, riding with biker gangs...the Dungeon was too much.
