Gunther vs. Rollins at Mania. Becky vs. Rhea as Night 1 main event.

Awful to hear.
Feel like in terms of a night one main event you can just do Becky / Rhea, but really no clue what to do with Seth at this point because he's beaten everyone. Maybe just do Seth / Gunther I guess, or try to move toward making the likely Drew / Sami match for the belt.

It's just rough, thinking back that his match against MJF that I was so hyped about because it was on my birthday wasn't even two years ago and how quickly things fell apart since then. Eh.

I'm curious how Drew could be involved now because I imagine they were not intending on giving him too high profile of a Mania match until he signs a new contract. Doesn't mean he can't lose a title match per se but that is a big spot for a guy who could very well work elsewhere in May. Didn't stop them with Danielson.

What if tonight Punk comes out to say he's hurt and missing Mania and then Seth comes out to rub it in because he's hurt but not missing Mania?
Then Punk can go to leave but attack Seth before he leaves (if possible) the ring leaving Seth down for a Priest cash-in?

They should just revisit Punk vs Rollins next year at Mania and the story can be neither of them have main evented a mania. Cause now that Punks out I don’t see Rollins main eventing night 1.

Best thing they could do if they want to move the title tonight is have Punk/Seth both in the ring talking about how they'll have their match eventually and have Punk be all the way back up at the ramp when Priest runs out with all of JD to take the title from Seth. You can have the haziness of whether Punk didn't help him because Punk is injured or wanted it to happen to Seth. Keep the intrigue while he is gone even if he doesn't come back.

f*** it, have Priest cash in tonight and parlay his RTruth program into the WHC mania match. Truth Mania! Have him win the belt but ask where his robe and crown are at. That could work, and if Seth isn’t ready to fight Gunther, you could move Miz over and have him put his career on the line for one last shot? But where does that leave Finn?

Too bad about the injury, was looking forward to see if he can go.
I had originally expressed some injury concern when he came back because of his previous ones over the years. If he can't go full-time or even 70% of full time I guess the best usage for him is a Edge like role from 2020-2023.
Come in, feud with someone for a few months. Break. Return at Summerslam. Break. Survivor Series. Break. To wrestlemania.
That would definitely mean, no title run would be in the works.

There’s a non zero chance Punk retires tonight.

There’s a non zero chance Punk retires tonight. I rather doubt that, given it'd be a hastily made decision off an injury it'll only take a few months to recover from, but he certainly has to be wondering how much longer he can keep trying to do this.

Also isn’t Drew’s issue solely about money? Like Bryan was going out to explore the new wrestling landscape no matter what but Drew just wants a big bag, right? If your top guys are dropping like flies before the biggest show of the year and you’re now drowning in Netflix money, give that big Scottish bastard his check and let’s go.

Only reason it’s a possibility is because it’s the same triceps injury from before. I doubt he does, but it’s not unrealistic.
