I’m loathe to give Punk too much credit for anything but we had a few posters confident in the fact that the second things didn’t go Punk’s way, we’d see a return to Muffingate Punk.
Well he’s gotten hurt, lost his Mania main event and they’re selling that shirt of Drew mocking his injury and he’s been taking it all in stride so far. Fingers crossed he stays the path.

I think a lot of the problem is that AEW seems to generally have a toxic locker room with a lot of wrestlers with a chip in their shoulder and thin-skin. Even without Punk it seems to be a divided locker room. Throw a bristle, volatile guy like Punk n there and it's a recipe for disaster.

There is nothing to show that it s toxic. With Punk I think he just didn’t mesh with the locker room.

They definitely have some issue at AEW. Cody helped start it and didn't even want to stay there.

Atmosphere seems a lot cooler in general.

If I had to guess, it was a structure/age gap thing.
WWE seems more structured while AEW seems a little more loosey-goosey/lax. It seems a lot of talent rebuked punks leadership role, while in WWE it’s been more embraced, especially seemingly through NXT.
There’s more closer to Phil’s age/prime in wrestling.
The structure/authority thing. And the “last chance” bit can’t be omitted either.

A pretty steep decline in backstage drama that just so happened to tank when a certain wrestler left the company. Now that there isn't a Marvel's Civil War divide between Team Punk and Team Bucks, seems like it's chill. Other than Miro wanting out supposedly and people seeming to think members of HoB want out, don't really hear much about anything about the backstage.

Punk aside who got everything he wanted and still bitched, any "Toxicity" in the AEW locker room can boil down to one common stigma Guys who left WWE, expected AEW to be like 2010 era TNA and hand them a world title and main event spot within three months, and they didn't get that and, despite being booked stronger than most points of their WWE run, it's not enough, they're not "booked strong enough", some butt heads with creative and sit on their hands instead of putting people over, and they want to go back to WWE where they "Totally will be now that Vince is gone" and essentially try and wait out/eat their contract, ironically, the same "Sit in catering" shit some of that had in WWE but seemingly, and very ironically self inflicted Not sure this Cody situation is exactly helping that case... wonder if some people might mysteriously stop bitching suddenly...

There were non former WWE problems in the locker room too, no? Sammy fighting with Eddie. Thunder Rosa and Britt. Ivelisse and Thunder Rosa. Another woman who was in for a cameo complained about feeling ostracized, I forget who. And non former WWE guys seemingly not happy with their push like Starks. Not that these things are uncommon for a wrestling locker room, but it hasn’t been all Punk, Andrade, Miro.

At least with Ivelisse, her beef with Rosa predates AEW, and as someone who has been up and down the industry with the same behavioral patterns of an Austin Aries or Low-Ki and beefed relentlessly with talent and promoters, I don't know if that's osmething I'd pin on AEW locker room toxicity. She's a name who will pick fights in any room in the world.

They definitely have some issue at AEW. Cody helped start it and didn't even want to stay there. For context Cody was pushing to go to WWE when The Elite were choosing between starting AEW or going to WWE. Cody has said repeatedly that he didn’t have issues with anyone. For him it was always a personal goal to return to WWE and climb the top of the mountain. Cody and The Elite give each other shout outs pretty regularly.

If I were to guess it's less that AEW's locker room is more toxic than WWE's and more that WWE's better at keeping talk of stuff in-house. Adrenaline running high and a lot of the people involved are dumb jocks this shit's going to happen.

Yeah and even then it's the kind of BS that's just normal for backstage wrestling. "Miro doesn't want to job". "Malakai maybe wants out because he misses his wife". It's not "CM Punk found a french fry in his onion rings so he punched out Brodie Jr."

Even without Punk it seems that they are all constantly complaining online about booking, arguing with fans online, arguing with others online or trying to take shots at WWE or WWW wrestlers. Tony doesn't seem to have any control over his own locker room. Though he's not why better then the rest of them.

Nobody is shooting on each other on camera since Punk left. The only drama we've been hearing about is the occasional story about how someone doesn't like jobbing or whatever. The only way you believe this is if you just believe every newz story you come across.
