I’m more surprised from WWEs POV. They really didn’t need Punk. Is there going to be a massive jump in what is already a good set of business numbers to make it worth bringing him in? When AEW did it I got the reasons behind it even if Im not a fan of the guy personally (In-Ring the guy is as good as he thinks he is obviously)
As for Punk himself, I’m not surprised in the slightest. He’s already shown himself to be everything HHH said about him in that well known interview segment so him showing up to work for a company that he ended a decades long friendship over because said friend visited people backstage tracks

Punk has to know that this is IT for him, right? Completely unearned second chance, and if he f***s up here, WWE can cut his arse with no hesitation and that’s him done in mainstream North American wrestling and his legacy is completely in the mud once and for all. He needs this more than WWE need him. Hell I said it when he was in AEW. They didn't need him, he needed them.

Absolutely no one is gonna dispute that. As for ratings that remains to be seen, but since he is listed as part of the RAW roster I would fully expect him to pop a rating at least once on Monday.

As a fan of his work? I love this.
As someone who grew quickly tired of his antics in AEW? I'm not a fan of this.
My hope for him is that he comes back, makes peace with his past and how he left in 2014, has a good run and finds himself in the HOF

They have to book him against Shane McMahon to decide who is the real best in the world. Then Shane insists on using real glass to recreate his kotr match against Angle.

I put the crit in Warcraft on my shaman.
Punk puts the crit in hypocrite in the WWE.
(Got him, right?!)
How anyone can be a fan of this dude is beyond me. Absolute carny. I'm assuming he's not a "wrestler" anymore given what he said before. Or are we moving the goalposts on that too?
Dude does not deserve this.
(Edit: I just finished the show I'm salty, I'll be calmer by tomorrow)

Im sure it’s mostly about business, but just like with Jade Cargill, there definitely is an element of Triple H going “nanner nanner nanner!” at Tony Khan. Honestly, I doubt it. Again when he signed with AEW the apparent feeling was "he's their problem now." I don’t see anywhere near the kind of animosity there was between Vince and Herd or Bischoff. But I get an impression of Triple H kimd of thumbing his nose at Tony “everything is fine” Khan. “Oh yeah, you’re doing great!”

Wrestling fans once Punk rumours to WWE started: 'CM Punk you smoke too tough. Your swag too different. Your bitch is too bad. THEY'LL KILL YOU' Punk: 'but they in chicago tho'

Holy hell at this thread being damn near 40 pages already! Did he even actually do something yet!? He started a fight with Stephanie but she broke her foot off in his ass MMA style. His first night back and he's getting his ass beat by Steph? Lucky f***.

We only know two sides of the story and I like one side of the story so the other side of the story is liars and Kenny Omega's juicy ass has svengali powers over Tony Khan to make him fire innocent parties I'm not gonna lie. The craziest part of this whole saga has been me slowly becoming a legit Kenny Omega fan. Honestly it just shows how awesome a dude Kenny is. Because even throughout everything Punk said he didn't have any issues with him

I also absolutely can't wait til he works a Saudi show so I can watch the goalposts moved AGAIN in real time.
I'm grabbing popcorn for all of us when it happens.

Tony does seem intent on trying to get WWE to acknowledge him, the few times they’ve even mentioned the existence of another promotion it’s been in an entirely snide, dismissive manner. And that actually does seem to contribute to Tony’s ever increasing mental instability , “dammit, notice me senpai!” And yes, trips has made some deliberate moves to rub it in, probably just waiting to see what desperate screw up Tony makes next. Edit: on that note, I suspect MJF, Jericho, and Omega are on Trips to do list. He’s definitely been eyeing up MJF, hasn’t been shy about that. Jericho has been outspoken that he wants to cap his career with anHOF induction, I can’t see Trips having any problem with making that happen.Omega is trickier, he’s in a very sweet position, but he’s also been indicating he is feeling the aches and pains, an offer of even better money and a much lighter schedule could be in the works.,

I stopped watching WWE in May 2021 so I rarely post in this section. I just wanted to say this :
CM PUNK IS NO LONGER THE VOICE OF THE VOICELESS.

See now I'm just wondering what kind of licensing deal WWE has with Living Colour that a decade later they can still just up and use the song on at most half a day's notice.

I just rewatched all the video of the guys in the ring when Punk comes out I think my favorite part is Randy who just doesn't give a f***.. And you don't really see stupid shit go off the rails in WWE We have seen Aries walk out of BFG after losing to Morrison and Punk with his bullshit but generally WWE does not do dumb shit like that at least not recently. You do something stupid you must be out the door ASAP like Gail Kim eliminating herself It would be a whole shit show if HHH really didn't tell people and Seth was ready to say f*** this job and throw hands Didn't they keep Gail around for like six months after that and keep trying to get her to return? Don't know about wanting her back but yes they made her sit out the rest of her contract. Had she requested her release without making a public spectacle of it they probably would have granted it.
