I think this depends on your definition of respect. Based on what we know of him publicly, I don’t think it’s likely he has even a scintilla of respect for anything or anyone except himself. But, he doesn’t see WWE as beneath him, like he did AEW by the end of his run there. Yeah I should've said 'Punk respects WWE in a way he didn't AEW'. But maybe respect isn't the word- tolerate might be a better word to use More than respect I think it's "willing to put up with not getting his way for more money and a larger platform". Which don't get me wrong, it's a business, so that's a perfectly valid reasoning. I just wish it was more about personal creative direction than literally banning and fighting the roster.

I just don't understand the selling point, here. "Seth and Punk hate each other IN REAL LIFE, so you should definitely watch them fake-fighting on our PPV!" Why on earth is this supposed to make us want to see this match? I mean you can say that about the 10,000 other times it’s been tried.

What’s the odds on the inevitable Punk/Seth feud having Rollins say something in a promo that sets Punk off like what happened over in AEW with the Hangman feud?

Punk: Hey, Seth want to have a program together? Rollins: No. Punk: *to himself* If a top name doesn't want to have a program with a new hot arrival, something is seriously wrong. Miz: I'll have a program with you. Punk: Get the hell out. Miz: I'm gone.

I feel like he’s less likely to feel like Rollins is required to worship the ground he walks on simply for existing, like he seemingly felt about Hangman Page, which always felt like it was the true trigger for all of his nonsense in AEW.

Punk respects WWE? When did Punk start respecting WWE? Probably once pen hit paper and not a second sooner. And the respect won’t be a second more after he is fired for cause within the next year. Relative to AEW and how he perceives them to run things he does, absolutely. He's wanted to go back there since Muffingate. I didn't say it doesn't make him a hypocrite. He absolutely didn't respect AEW or Tony Khan. He saw himself as a star bigger than the company. He felt he was above it all. I don't think he feels the same about WWE, that's what I'm getting at. Yeah I can agree with this, it definitely seems like he went to AEW thinking he was gonna take over. Don’t see him trying to pull that off in WWE.

I love the idea that WWE runs a tight ship and there’s less likely to be drama with Punk there, as if he didn’t already walk out of the company once before.

Especially since WWE (and by extension, TKO Group) won’t be afraid to cut bait the moment the headaches that Punk brings rear their ugly heads

He walked out and they mailed him a pink slip. Punk made Tony Khan look like a powerless doofus in front of the world and Tony responded by building a whole new show around him. I don’t doubt there’s drama in WWE but I can’t see Punk getting away with the kind of stuff he did in AEW. I’ll happily admit if I’m wrong though, there’s a good chance we’ll have an opportunity to see soon!

Dawg, the fact that people actually kinda think the Seth thing is real…oh yeah, that main event about to do NUMBERS.
HHH in his f***ing bag, I can’t lie. Literally the wrestling Booker equivalent of 2012-2013 Lebron

I'd bet my Haus on it.

Has the betting pool on when he gets injured or pisses someone off opened yet?

Has the betting pool on when he gets injured or pisses someone off opened yet? I'm pretty sure the internal staff has long since opened it, ran it and probably partially collected on it. At least twice. Today.

I think the scripted nature of promos should hopefully keep Punk in check. I think AEW had more creative looseness on the mic.

Imagine going back two or three years and telling a wrestling fan that these guys would be on the WWE roster page in 2023. Unbelievable.
