The idea of CM Punk and Seth Rollins doing some kind of work-shoot "we genuinely hate each other guys!" promos is giving me hives.
I haven't watched WWE for a couple of years and this news isn't going to change that though, so if the train falls off the tracks, I get to enjoy the drama without worrying about the wider effect it's having on the wrestling show I like.
Good luck to Punk and WWE. I hope it works out.

Lol that's the thing with Punk- all these hypotheticals become reality pretty soon when it comes to him Yeah, my first reaction to a lot of 'what-ifs' posited here is to think the WWE locker room is about to get very suddenly, and totally coincidentally, super leaky. I'd bet my Haus on it. I could see the slime oozing from my TV when they showed Hausman's face on it.

As Tiger millionaire said I compare this to Hogan's 2002 to 2003 WWE Return. I think WWE as well as the new structure is better to deal with him.

Imagine going back two or three years and telling a wrestling fan that these guys would be on the WWE roster page in 2023. Unbelievable. And Jade Cargill too!!

I must say, I find this idea that WWE has the better structure to deal with Punk to be absolutely hilarious. It makes it sound like he's a misbehaving toddler instead of a 45-year-old man who should be able to be professional without being kept on a tight leash.

At least it's nice now for WWE to complete the list of Undertaker Wrestlemania victims again.
It was always weird in the video packages when they always skipped Wrestlemania 29.

I’m not sure what would be the funnier outcome here: Punk yet again refusing to keep his ego in check and getting booted after starting fights backstage, or Punk going all-in on all the WWE shit he’s based his persona around rebelling against, further solidifying that he’s the John Lydon of pro wrestling.

Dawg, the fact that people actually kinda think the Seth thing is real…oh yeah, that main event about to do NUMBERS. HHH in his f***ing bag, I can’t lie. Literally the wrestling Booker equivalent of 2012-2013 Lebron He’s absolutely killing it. I guess Nick Khan too but it’s pretty astounding. Still can’t believe all this.

So in terms of how the WWE makes money.
Here's list so far I can think of:
Live Attendance WWE 2K Video Games (There will definitely be a ton of fans who have waited for this the last 10 years) WWE Trading Cards WWE Mattel Figures (2011 MITB one will probably be in demand) Funko Pops (Dude will have like 5 different versions of himself) WWE Ice Cream Bars (TKO can probably get this done)
I'm sure there are more I am forgetting.

One really odd thing about it is "nobody knew anything, even the production staff..." etc
But they had an edit of the remastered version of "Cult Of Personality" that was only released yesterday ready to go?

he'll go full scorched earth again and be blackballed from the 2 biggest promotions in the U.S.

The Ultimate Hypocrite lives on!
But also, I said it in AEW and It still holds true. CM Punk acted like AEW was lucky to have him,he really felt himself above the company.
From thing slike being the /only/ wrestler to not appear on AEW Dark,to talking over and down anyone else including his own boss.

I love the idea that WWE runs a tight ship and there’s less likely to be drama with Punk there, as if he didn’t already walk out of the company once before. He walked out and they mailed him a pink slip. Punk made Tony Khan look like a powerless doofus in front of the world and Tony responded by building a whole new show around him. I don’t doubt there’s drama in WWE but I can’t see Punk getting away with the kind of stuff he did in AEW. I’ll happily admit if I’m wrong though, there’s a good chance we’ll have an opportunity to see soon! Yeah, it's not even close to being the same level. WWE and Punk used his grievances to make one of the most popular wrestling characters of all time and lots of pretty good TV. He was a top guy in that system, with Vince, for five years. AEW Punk... well where do you start. There are about half a dozens things that were way worse than simply walking out.

I was drunk on a cocktail of whiskey and soda. Punk and WWE on a cocktail of hypocrisy and poor decisions. Oh, to be a fly on the wall, backstage at Survivor Series. Holy smokes, they actually went through with it.
