I've been big on not wanting to see Cole betray MJF cuz it's kinda silly and there's more mileage in a friendship that just sticks for once, BUT MJF having a line like "I wish Cole didn't get hurt so this could all play out" in his Players Tribute piece has me thinkin. has me sus.

Adam Cole being the devil still feels pretty awful, especially with Joe betraying him. You can't chain betrayals and have everyone who's ever been nice to your face turn out to be evil and using him, that undermines the whole point of MJF's character arc.

It's pretty amazing that Joe has been doing the exact same thing in the exact same ring gear for 20+ years and he's still over. No major changes to his move set or his character and it still works.
