I’d honestly argue that Christian Cage is one of AEW’s biggest acquisitions. He’s not as important as a Mox in laying the groundwork but if there’s someone who gets what it means to try things out in a new company and taking advantage of its resources, it’s Christian Cage. He did it in TNA and he’s doing it here. Even as a big fan of his I scoffed at the "big signing" or whatever they promoted him as. I was completely wrong. He's in my top 5 people in AEW right now, and none of the stuff I hate about "old guys" in wrestling applies to him. Wild that he's probably the best he's ever been at this stage in his career. I didn’t want to say it but man, I feel vindicated about the whole “big signing” thing. I mean, I was personally vindicated from the Rampage match with Omega but even more so now. It’s really hard to argue that he isn’t somehow at his peak despite coming back from a 7 year retirement only three years ago this month.

I wouldn't normally dox myself on here, but this was my view of the big spot from the match on Saturday. It was a fun, fun time.

Christian is that very rare heel that the crowd loves as a character/wrestler but also loves booing the shit out of. There aren't many heels that can do that.

That might as well be a miracle

Bumping because I wanna appreciate that trilogy closer! A perfect wrapup where all of Christian's assholishness finally comes back on him, that I Quit match was so friggin fun and I'm so giddy rn hahah. That was a perfect length for a feud like this and the beats played out wonderfully from WrestleDream to here. Getting an aggressively Canadian match where they fight in the penalty box and Christian gets kicked in the balls 40 times makes up for me not getting my "Copeland threatens to hurt Nick Wayne and Christian's just like ehhhh whatever" spot. I think this is in my top echelon of fav AEW feuds that are start to finish great along with feuds like Omega/Hangman/Bucks.

Copeland winning by tenderizing Christians family jewels was just, perfect.
The ONLY thing that would have made it better was if Momma Wayne got hers as well.

Have absolutely no insight as to the professional/personal logistics of the matter, but Was totally expecting a Beth appearance as soon as Shayna took the stage that time.

These two men are 50 and came back from what were thought to be Career Ending Injuries to end them on the right note and on their terms
And I can safely say that this feud was a perfect encapsulation of that. Beautifully done, and these guys have plenty of juice left even after it, which is the crazy part
I'm glad they're both here, healthy, and able to deliver this quality to us, it's awesome!

Kinda sad that Christian’s title reign is over. He did what needed to be done as champion. But this was the right decision imo.

Also worth saying both flat out said they wanted to tell stories, and they did a damn good one... to close the first part of their final masterpiece (you know they're gonna be teaming at some point). It can not be understated how much Christian has rehabbed the TNT title... and also cannot be understated how despite having some pretty nasty matches already they still escalated the feud without going to far. Let Christian get a bit of a break for a bit then come back stronger than ever to get Killswitch and Nick Wayne over

That was a hell of a match. They’ve really been having their HBK-hhh make-up rivalry saga I I liked how logical the ending was. Christian *would* quit. The edge o magic on the ladder made me wince. Copelands taking some bumps but seems to be smart about em

I was sold on the match being great the moment Christian fled into the womens toilets

The match was a banger. People on "X" want to complain about the age and I'm like screw the age, the match was great. Thats all I care about if the match was good.

Incredibly fun and violent match.
I like how it went black for a few seconds when switching over to Rampage. It made it look like what was about to happen was going to be too intense to air

Right decision to do the title change here with such a hot crowd. The spot where Copeland just kept kicking Christian in the nuts was glorious. Christian is a badass for taking that and Spike to the nuts and still not quitting which i suppose makes sense considering how much the TNT title meant to him.
Interesting to see where both go from here. Will be cool to see them both with fresh opponents. Assuming Garcia will get a win back from Christian maybe.

A salute to Christian's 370 Day Run as TNT Champion. Truly, a hero for the children.
