77-Dangerous Days the Making of Blade Runner-Blu Ray
Summertime is when I stay up all night when the house is quiet and watch films I want to give my full attention. No having to get up every hour to check on people. No having to stop cause someone forgot how to reset the smart tv.
Blade Runner is a film I have loved since I saw it again when I was 15,after hating it seeing it in a theater as a 7 or 8 year old kid expecting Han Solo vs human looking robots.
This making of is 3 hours and 30 minutes and so indepth it feels complete.

These 2 movies people are SHOCKED I haven't seen
41. The Crow This one is so well made, the style, the soundtrack, the atmosphere. But the story, meh. Man is murdered, comes back and has 0 trouble getting revenge. I could have done with a bit more jeopardy. I can see why it's so influential but I needed more story.
42. Clueless Also an amazing soundtrack, also iconic, but almost a 180 in everything else, there's a great essay comparing these 2 that needs to be written. Loved the plot, the dialogue, hit pretty every beat perfectly, apart from Tai's semi-heel turn coming out of nowhere and the ending wrapping up SO quickly, but the ride was brilliant.

79-Amazon Women on the Moon-Kino Lober Blu ray
I keep forgetting this spoof exists. Starting off as a semi sequel to Kentucky Fried Movie this is the 80s version of Movie 43. But much funnier and pretty sure this made money.
#f**kknows as I forgot to keep updating this thread mainly because my brain didnt want to be reminded I had to finish Rebel Moon part 1:
Godzilla minus one (subbed.) first watch, (I know the original Japanese is the better version to watch but I wanted the nostalgia of watching a Godzilla film in the same way I first started watching the series on channel 4.) it's a great film that used it's budget amazingly well. ( I will watch it in original language in the near future.)
Godzilla x Kong: the new empire (bluray), was promised a giant monkey teaming up with a giant nuclear powered lizard to fight another giant monkey, and that is what I got. only complaint I have is when Godzilla first leaves Rome they cgi looks a bit cheap for that one scene (where miniature Godzilla is stomping up a river, pre powering up)
don't remember what else I've watched outside of Dune part 1, and The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent.
**edit**
oh yeah,
Killer Klowns from outer space: I was bored and it was on amazon prime video with a few days left before it was removed, found it annoying and boring, which is unusal for me with 80's cheese movies like this.

160. WALDEN (2023) It's like someone had a Young Sheldon script and a Dexter script and just threw them together. A prim, proper intelligent court stenographer finds out he's got a brain tumor that affects his way of thinking and begins killing criminals who get off on absurd screw ups by the police (Like not turning in evidence on a murder case?), all while in the background police continue investigating a kidnapper who tends to steal young children (which I'm sure won't have a horrifying discovery at the end at all).
It icked me out, but that's about it.
161. THE RETURN OF THE WORLD'S GREATEST DETECTIVE (1976) A klutzy cop crashes his motorcycle and wakes up thinking he's Sherlock Holmes, beginning to investigate crimes with the help of the police doctor who felt bad for him (and just happened to be named Watson).
It was a failed pilot for a comedy-mystery show...and I understand. It was directed by Dean Hargrove who had a hand in creating Perry Mason, Matlock, and Diagnosis Murder, so this probably failed so that those could succeed.
162. MURDER BY THE BOOK (1987) An author (played by Robert Hayes from AIRPLANE and AIRPLANE II) wants to abandon his hard nosed noir detective character for a more Poirot style guy, vows to solve a disappearing girl mystery to prove to his agent that he's prepared to write his new character. It's a satire with the author being followed by illusions of his Hard Nose Detective character who keeps barking suggestions and advice to actually help him solve the mystery.
It's amusing at times, slow at others, but has Fred Gwynne as the bad guy, so that was kind of cool.
164. DR GIGGLES (1992) This is my nonsense. Doctor pun on top of doctor pun on top of ironically killed characters.
Re-watched as part of Joe Bob's Last Drive-In Show

83-Teen Wolf Two-MGM Flipper DVD
Was sure I had seen this since it hit theaters decades ago. But watching it I remembered almost nothing about the movie.
Quickly made and cheap sequel to the surprise hit. And instead of getting a star of Family Ties to be the lead they got the brother of one of the stars of Family Ties.
Stiles returns from the original, played by a different actor. The dad from the original returns, played by same actor.
Fun but forgettable.

103. Pearl (2022) Watched it on Paramount+. 104. X (2022) Watched it on A24 on Demand.
Okay, rather than critique these films individually, I decided I will talk about both of them at once.
The first thing that I must note is that I watched these two films in preparation for "MaXXXine." I also decided to watch them chronologically, which worked in a lot of ways, especially when looking at story elements from "Pearl" that carried over into "X." I also think that Mia Goth did well in both films, whether it's as young Pearl, old Pearl, and as Maxine. It was also interesting that both films were shot back to back, as well as at the same location. When watching both films, you could see the styles used for each film. I think that was what Ti West was going for.

Legitimately one of the worst movies I've ever seen. [½*]
I hear it's an improvement over "House Party 4: Down to the Last Minute," which was bad, and I mean BAD.
Anyway, onto this post.
105. DOA: Dead or Alive (2006) - Watched this on Blu-ray. I had been in the mood for this movie lately. I think maybe it's because I kind of got back into the games recently. Plus, I had watched some videos on YouTube where people discussed this film, as it's definitely not a good movie, but it is appreciated as a guilty pleasure, maybe could be a cult classic in some ways.
I remember renting this movie at the end of 2009. I had heard that it's a bad film, but really, when has that stopped me? Anyway, some old friends talked about it and they have said that they enjoyed it. Also, a martial arts movie that is based on a video game with hot women? How could I not be on board with this? Also, having played the games, this film is faithful to the source material, at least to some degree.
With that said, it definitely has its charm. This film doesn't take itself seriously. The eye candy served their purpose, although I will say that Jaime Pressly took the role more seriously as she seemed like she was trying (well, except maybe Sarah Carter). However, I think the worst actress of the bunch was Devon Aoki. If you watch any scene with her, her delivery was wooden and also lacked emotion. I also thought Kevin Nash was well cast as Bass Armstrong.
It doesn't even hold back on the sexualization of the ladies, like how the games do. With the game being known for, uh, certain physics, this film goes all in with the camera angles. Also, where else are you going to see a fight scene with two women in bikinis fighting in the rain and it's treated like an epic battle? Yes, even something like that can happen in the games. I kid you not.
In the end, it's a fun film. It's not a good movie, because it would be wrong on many levels if I said it was, but for a film based on a video game, it does its job.
Also, fun fact: While this film was released in cinemas in the autumn of 2006 outside of North America, it was released stateside in the summer of 2007, almost a year since its release overseas. I also maintain that it was shown in my area but only at one theater. I kind of wondered what it would have been like to see this on the big screen. I wonder if anybody even went to see it.
