A group of journalists try to get to Washington DC during a modern day civil war. It has a bunch of people driving around with a few horrifying interludes, all leading up to a huge and well done battle at the end.

113. The Garbage Picking Field Goal Kicking Philadelphia Phenomenon (1998) 114. The Man Called Flintstone (1966)I DVR'd this, along with The Jetsons Meet the Flintstones, over the summer, but I'm only now getting around to watching them. I always thought this was some kind of 80's TV movie, but just discovered that, no, this is a 60's theatrical release that basically served as a finale for the original TV series. The hint should've been Hoppy's presence. I can't think of any other Flintstones project past the original series that used him. Anyways, for those not familiar, Fred gets mistaken for a spy named Rock Slag and he and his family and the Rubbles get caught up in a globe-trotting adventure. It's a charming if unspectacular movie that has a decent animation upgrade from the series. It's nothing I'd go out of my way for, but if you have any nostalgia for The Flintstones at all I'd recommend giving it a watch at least once. Sometime in the early 80s the local theater was gonna play that as the kids matinee one week in the summer. I go cause I had wanted to see the film for years. Get there to learn the print they got sent is broke so they are gonna show us Popeye, the Robin Williams movie, which I had already seen. Wasn't until cable hit my area and TNT or TBS showed it one weekend i finally saw it. 123-Bring it On -Youtube She wanted something to watch that could be streamed,we were both doing laundry. Saw that all but the newest Bring it On film, which is a slasher,is on Youtube free view. Seen this movie way way too many times. An ex watched it at least twice a week. Would get home from work and hear the dialogue and sometimes debat going to the comic shop to play cards. Not bad and I get why for a generation after me this is a huge film. 7.5 I want a movie about the Clovers out of 10

124-Terrorvision-Scream Factory Blu Ray
Like less than 6 months after this hit Home video it got syndicated. And every year at least 3 times a year the local channel would air it late Saturday nights.
Alien gets accidently beamed down to Earth thru someones C Band Satellite dish.
Mary Warnov,Diane Franklin,Chad Allen and a pile of other "Hey it's that person" actors. Lots of comedy and this odd sleazy tone.
8.9 Rainbow wigs on Diane out of 10.

I love that Blu-ray double feature you mentioned you have of it elsewhere. I enjoyed The Video Dead even more (though the Terror Vision theme is pretty awesome). I’ll have to dig out my copy of it at some point

114. The Man Called Flintstone (1966) 115. Transformers One (2024) 116. The Jetsons Meet the Flintstones (1987)So here's that 80's TV movie I was talking about. So the Jetsons meeting the Flintstones is a neat concept, and, the movie has it's moments, but for the most part it's pretty formulaic, just running through some pretty tired old gags. Worth a watch for historical sakes, but otherwise it's nothing special.

Trying to keep things as spoiler free as possible in case anyone wants to see these:
I Saw the TV Glow: Kinda weird, but a beautifully powerful movie. It's not often we get horror from a trans director, and she did a great job of metaphorically portraying how tough it can be.
Speak No Evil (Original version): This one damn near gave me a panic attack. Social anxiety horror is my weakspot, and this one hit it hard.
Beau is Afraid: I love Ari Aster. I may have a creative crush on the man for how his mind works. I'm not sure how I feel about this one. It's 3 hours long, and I felt all 3 hours. I didn't hate it, but I need time to think about what I saw.
Late Night with the Devil: LOVED IT. Clever premise, well executed, and it's always nice seeing Polka Dot Man.
Cobweb: Not bad. Decent build, but the horrible ending ruined the movie.
When Evil Lurks: Holy shit was this good. From the director of Aterrados, which I also enjoyed. Starts strong, and doesn't let up. I love international horror. This, along with Speak No Evil, have cajones that American horror never will.
Men: Loved the first 2 acts, not sure how I feel about the weird as shit final 20 minutes.
Cuckoo: Neat idea. Again, kinda flawed 3rd act, but won't go into why to avoid spoilers.
Longlegs: LOVED IT. I don't like Nicolas Cage, but he knocked this one out of the park. I really enjoy Osgood Perkins' movies.
Quiet Place - Day One: Lupita and Joseph did a good job, and it was an okay enough script, but I didn't think it was great.
The First Omen: I didn't like this one at all. I love the first two Omen's. I grew up with them. This was 2 hours that I felt. Every review I've read gives this movie glowing reviews, and I felt like I watched a different movie. I did enjoy the nod to Possession.

All My Friends Hate Me: Damn you social anxiety horror! I did appreciate how this one ended, and made you rethink everything you had just watched. Like, you could see it again from a different perspective.
Trap: SIGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Shyamalan is such a problematic director for me. This was "Plot Convenience: The Movie". Josh Hartnett did a great job. His daughter got her music career showcased in a way that has to make Brooke Hogan jealous. There are nuggets of good moments here and there, but Shyamalan needs to stop writing his own scripts, or give final writing duties to someone else. I wonder if we'll see Sherri Moon Shyamalan in anything else?

Love a good documentary, this was an interesting look with Demi Levato interviewing various child stars, from Drew Barrymore, to Kenan Thompson to Jojo Siwa. Always useful to remind you just how messed up things are for these kids in so many ways, some horrible stories.

131. Speak No Evil (2022) - Watched this on DVD. I haven't watched a lot of movies lately, but rather have been watching TV show episodes. However, I decided to watch a movie.
After seeing the trailers for the 2024 film of the same name, I found out that not only is there a 2022 film with the same title, I also found out that the 2024 film is a remake of this. I decided to check this one out first. It's a Danish film, by the way.
With that being said, I could see what the writers and the directors were going for with this film. Maybe I'm getting a little ahead of myself, but there were so many things about this film that made me see that there was kind of a satire and a message in there, because despite having an idea of what the plot was about when seeing trailers for the remake with James McAvoy, I didn't expect things to take a massive turn in the third act. However, when remembering some aspects of the story earlier on, it kind of made sense, especially with how passive the main man was in this film.
Even then, I have to give props to the four main actors in this film, especially the ones playing the other couple with how they act over the course of the film. There is a bit of a slow burn, but it does give some idea as to what may happen later on. However, there are a few plot holes here and there, but I could only surmise that they were to help some insight to the other couple's motives.
I will say that the ending, while there was an allegory to it, it's definitely something that disturbed me. I don't even know if I could watch this film again, at not soon. It was rather messed up. Although I have noticed people online criticizing the ending for this, I think if they really think about it, it does show the situation that these people put themselves in. I found myself thinking, "Just go, man," but then again, we wouldn't have more of the story. It kind of makes you think, even if it disturbs you. I know I was a bit disturbed by that ending.
I have an idea that the remake may have a different approach, but I will still see it for myself.

Strong cast and a cool idea but it really needed a better script to really make it work. [**½]

132. Speak No Evil (2024) - Saw this in theaters. After watching the original Danish version of this film, I wasn't sure it I was ready for this one. However, given that I read up on some insight of this version (spoiled myself, if you will), I read that this one isn't as bleak as the original. With that said, I can say that I liked both versions for different reasons.
I will say that this version is a shot-for-shot remake, with the exception of not only the climax, but there were some differences in some scenes and how some of the characters were written. In fact, this version expanded on some of the characters that there is more for some of them to do.
Also, all four of the leads played their parts well. James McAvoy and Aisling Franciosi were charismatic enough that I could see how Scoot McNairy and MacKenzie Davis could be manipulated by them, but at least the script gave their characters' versions more spine than the Danish versions of the characters had.
Plus, with this being a Blumhouse film, I could see some similarities in style with some of their other films.
Overall, I compared both films, but if I had to pick which version I liked better, it would probably be this version. Don't get me wrong, I can appreciate the more bleak nature that the original Danish version had, but it's definitely not something I can revisit, at least not for a while. This one, while it had the same story for the most part, I could see myself revisiting it in the future, maybe near future.
