Another takeaway I have from Vince McMahon's social media post is that it sure feels like he's going to be on the receiving end of the bulk of the damage stemming from the Grant case, while the rest of WWE should make it out in one piece. At least, that's my interpretation if he's the only person willing to go on the offensive like this before the documentary is even released.

Vince screwed Vince. I have no sympathy for Vince whatsoever. That is all. Nah Vince screwed others out of their dignity, their agency, and their freedom. It's why WWE being a monopoly for so long is dangerous and why having a solid second company helps relieve some of the issues of being the only game in town. Basically, yeah. I feel like there are a lot of people who forget how much of Vince's influence in his own company trickled down across the industry not just in how things are done but what's justified behavior because of it. Not to blame him for anything in particular because people are to blame for their own actions on a micro level (in comparison to some of Vince's actions, I mean) but the consequences of buying his competition is still felt even now but it was dire in the 2000s.

It seems like the majority of the bad actors are gone from that incident. We won't find out more though until the Janel Grant lawsuit goes to court.

I'll also add Vince saying what he said doesn't necessarily mean it'll be brutal to him to the degree he deserves. This is a man that, as someone mentioned, stropped like a baby when Bob Costas merely asked about the health of the talent under contract. He made HHH's dodging of the Drew Gulak question look like something out of Sun Tzu's Art of War. Implying anything outside of "I'm cool, sexy and have a gigantic penis" was going to offend him.

Yeah, I’m starting to think it’s his doc isn’t so much aimed to further villify Vince, but to make it clear that WWE, the company has got rid of the cancer so to speak and is now a great place to work.

Based on the Vince reaction and that he tried to kill the doc, this has gone from something I may watch eventually to something I need to check out quickly.

That’s an odd review, as I doubt anyone is going into it expecting Vince to be the one to reveal and discuss the bad things he’s done.

I think what the review is trying to get at (even though I do agree with your general point) is that this isn't the Vince torching it was being made out to be and comes off alot more softball than people are expecting..

Again, I'm not sure what people expected when this is a legal situation that has to play out in court.
No matter how guilty Vince looks, it'd be foolish for anyone to go on a documentary, or the documentary itself, to burn him at the stake. It leaves them open to legal action if Vince is somehow found not guilty. Highly unlikely but in a country that found OJ not guilty, it's always possible.

I know the reasons stated why the jury found him not guilty but during the pandemic I watched the trial back(ALL of it) and it still annoys me.

That’s an odd review, as I doubt anyone is going into it expecting Vince to be the one to reveal and discuss the bad things he’s done. Aside from "The Jinx," when has a documentary ever actually pulled a confession out of its primary subject? I don't know what people expected from this. It's not like Vince McMahon was going to pull a Jimmy Swaggart and give this tear-filled confession and apology, and if he did, it would've been public knowledge by now. The documentary's clear intention seems to be to let Vince McMahon give his side - while at the same time giving him just enough rope to hang himself - then letting the talking heads explain the opposing point of view, then show court documents or transcripts or what have you and ultimately let the viewer decide whether to believe the accused multi-millionaire megalomaniac or the dozens of other perspectives.

Yeah, add me to the list of people the doc is a day one watch for. If it's making him crawl out of his disgusting little hole just to make it known he's sweating buckets, that's a golden stamp of approval. 👍

It does a great job of analyzing everything surrounding the trial and explains the circumstances under which O.J. was found Not Guilty.

Funny how this mirrors Wrestling with Shadows - an agreement for backstage access for 'A year in the life of...' type documentary that ends up capturing history unfolding.

Not surprised thats the approach they are going with, "Vince is gone therefore WWE is the promised land"
