I kind of wonder if part of why Cody comes off like such a star is his entrance music has any presence whatsover, putting it over the majority of the roster's. It’s got the hallmarks of a good/recognizable theme: - cue at the start (the drum beat and “wrestling has more than one royal family”) - catchy as hell and very sing-along-able - WHOA-OH

def rebel is just _NOT_ good at this.
I know some people didn't like CFO$ because their themes didn't make for good full-length songs you'd want to listen to outside of the context of a wrestling show, but def rebel is just dire.
I'd honestly rather they go back to using stuff from Production Libraries than stick with def rebel.

80% of the Women's Rumble was: *music hits* I wonder who that is? *waits for the name to show or person to be visible*
And I thought the Women's Rumble was better than the men's. But those entrances/music really showed how the WWE is totally failing on the musical side of things.

The period where there was no entrance music (pre 80s) was better than this

Surprised as HHH is a big music guy and behind the scenes on nxt docs he did emphasise good music/entrances

Maybe the Netflix deal will allow them to open the pocketbook and pay for licensed themes. Read somewhere Endeavor has a Library? Select some bands off there

I kind of wonder if part of why Cody comes off like such a star is his entrance music has any presence whatsover, putting it over the majority of the roster's. Another one I would add to that list is Bobby Lashley. Dude feels so credible and I think that is due to his theme, which has an instantly recognisable intro and a rhythm that is perfectly timed for him to do his poses for great effect for his entrance.

There's literally a fan's video from during the men's Rumble capturing Seth's reaction to one of the entrances with one of the super generic theme songs(I think it was later sleuthed to be Kross'?), and Seth was doing theatrical gesturing during the countdown clock and once the music hits, he just...freezes, and then leans forward like, "Who the hell is this? Oh. OH. Ok, neat."
EVEN THE GOD DAMN WRESTLERS CAN'T TELL THE THEMES APART!

People. Late 80s / early 90s themes SUCKED. I can enjoy a few ironically, but it's mostly forgettable stock-music one-dude-with-a-synthesizer nothing. Anyone's better than Jimmy Hart. I respect your opinion, but I have never disagreed with a post more in the 30 years I've been on the Internet.

A lot of my problems come from not watching the weekly shows so I don't recognize most of the music. Music I recognized was: Natalya (a Bret Hart ripoff theme) Naomi Asuka Zelina Vega (because of the Eddie voice) Becky Lynch Liv Morgan (though part of me thinks Alexa Bliss is coming out) Jey Uso Jimmy Uso (don't know if I actually knew his song but I did know he was coming out) Shinsuke Austin Theory (only because of the A Town down) Cody Rhodes Kofi Gunther R Truth Miz CM Punk Drew McIntyre Sami Zayn (this was a case where I recognized a song and forgot who it was until he came out)

Maybe the Netflix deal will allow them to open the pocketbook and pay for licensed themes. Gunther's theme as Walter was FREE and they made it worse for money!

Of the newer themes, here's the ones I am able to recognize right away
Alpha Academy (because of the shoosh intro) Asuka (A good theme but it could use a second verse) Austin Theory Bianca Belair (has the whip sound, and even without the whip it gets right into her song) Chelsea Green (she has the "it's Chelsea" opener) Charlotte Flair (its still a 2001 song remix) Cody Rhodes Damage CTRL (gets right into the verse) Drew McIntyre (da bagpipes) Grayson Waller (good theme able to recognize right away) IYO Sky (Tokyo Shock is an absolute banger!) Jey Uso LA Knight (says his name at the beginning) Liv Morgan (she has the bells and "watch me". I can't really remember the rest, but the intro alone let us know it's Liv) Rhea Ripley (has the "this is my brutality") Seth Rollins Viking Raiders (because of the "Valhalla is here" part)
As mentioned above, the Women's Rumble really highlighted how bad the themes are. Like Nia Jax used to have a great entrance, now I have no idea. Kairi Sane lost her "Yo Ho" music.

I'd say yes, at the Rumble I had no idea who was coming out most of the time and I'd say the crowd felt the same way.

I I had no idea what that theme was untill KAIRI showed up simply because it was a whole new theme for her but I love it because it keeps the pirate theme but there is sinister overtone to it now and easily one of the better new themes they have done , just need to hear it more often so it becomes recognizable.

Maybe the Netflix deal will allow them to open the pocketbook and pay for licensed themes. Honestly, I wouldn't want everyone to have a "Real Song" with lyrics, either. I like instrumental themes.

Someone linked a video of the male entrances on Discord, and damn, even at Jim Johnston's most "ok and for this wrestler we'll have a drum loop and chugging guitar" mode they were more distinguishable than this. Pretty much anything that wasn't CFO$ or Cody's was damn near interchangeable just with a different catchphrase/noise dropped in.

But Pretty Deadly's theme exists. Funnily enough, this and a couple others made me think twice about making the thread. Then I remembered the DIY song and hit send.
