Didn't Tanahashi get lumped with a random match with Billy Gunn at one point? Yep

I’m going with an oldie: Jake “The Snake” Roberts vs George Wells at WrestleMania 2.

I got two, and they happened early that same year. JBL vs. The Boogeyman at Royal Rumble 2006 Booker T and Sharmell vs. The Boogeyman at Wrestlemania 22. Not to mention that Bradshaw and Booker jobbed to Boogeyman. I always found the storyline explanation of Boogeyman's injury after the Booker T match to be hilarious. Booker T filed a restraining order against him, as if a supernatural entity is going to pay any attention to what the court says.

I would like to say Demolition v. Tenryu/Kitao at VIII. They were random but sadly Demolition, without Ax, were not major stars anymore. This is because the WWF had a working relationship with Tenryu's promotion SWS.Though I don't think the WWF ever said they did, so I'm sure people were confused at that time.

Still not entirely sure if Big Show vs Akebono happened given its utter ludicrousness and how little it's been referenced in the time since. It's especially bizarre in that Show had spent much of Winter as a top guy and then dropped out of contention to do a showcase sumo match a month later.

A ton of Undertaker opponents (Heidenreich is the first who comes to mind).
