Yeah, this is all way more organic and confidently fitted for him than the thing he was doing before. His early heel stuff felt like it was lacking in conviction, like a wrestler playing the heel rather than being the heel, and maybe there's some value in that goofiness; he did have some silly moments, but 'silly moments' don't make the kind of heel he wanted to be, they're the humiliation on top. Here, he's got something that it feels like he's integrated. There's more confidence in his delivery; part of that is material and a character shift, for sure, but it feels like part of it is him having puzzled together exactly how to compose himself. He got to workshop this stuff in New Japan and I don't know if someone there helped him figure it out or if he just took the new crowd as a fresh chance to try something, but he's broguht together pieces that previously were not connecting.

Can Tony Khan PLEASE pay whatever it takes for Cry Me A River for Jack? I will chip in. I genuinely think it would get a massive pop when people realised what it was

It is kind of jarring how I felt Perry was exposed during the Pillars feud, felt his heel turn killed him even more, but dude found gold as the Scapegoat Yeah I don’t mean this in an insulting way because I’m just some random dude on a wrestling forum and my opinion for sure won’t mean anything to any wrestler but I’m lowkey flabbergasted how perfectly Perry has slotted into the Elite storyline If you’d told me that a year ago I’d have called you a liar

The Pillars Feud version 2 sometime in 2026 will be grand. Salt of the earth "Our Scumbag" MJF fighting against the EVP's handpicked champ "Corporate" Jack Perry while the "Conscience of AEW" Darby watches from the rafters still deciding on when to get involved. A Miz-like Sammy, bitter that a mixture of bad luck and poor judgment meant he never won the title inserts himself as a wild card into the feud determined not to be the Jannetty of the Pillars.

In kayfabe, Perry can claim that he beat up Ethan Page in the locker room. That is why Ethan is gone from AEW.

I remember suggesting that it looked like Jack Perry was going to join the Elite and many said Perry would bring everybody else down

I like Jack Perry as this little shithead heel.
But if you have a group like The Elite and Jack Perry ends up world champ with Okada standing right there. That just feels very, very wrong.

I feel confident that due to the lengths they are going to with the angle (NFL draft neck brace) that TK will get the song if the question is just dollars and cents. Let us all hope.

Swerve vs Perry should happen at ALL IN, but no way should Perry win the World Title. I know there's some debate on whether Hangman should be heel or face but I actually feel like Hangman challenging Swerve could be the All In match, assuming they're not going to go with Will winning the top title in his home country just yet (especially if he wins the International Title). Swerve/Hanger is one of their best ever rivalries, Hangman in storyline will be absolutely desperate to take the title he couldn't stop Swerve winning away and it would be a fitting main event given the quality of their other matches and the reception of them. Not sure what I'd have Perry do there, maybe they'd give him some sort of bigger moment at All Out in Chicago though given the reaction he got there recently. Slightly off topic but in an ideal world I'd break Nigel's heart and book Ospreay/Danielson II for All In too. And Omega/Okada if the former can be ready as he hinted on Dynamite (though perhaps we were meant to ignore that once he got attacked afterwards). Sort of do the opposite to last year where they avoided some of the big singles matches in favour of getting as many on the card as possible. This time round it feels like there are some enormous matches ready made for their biggest show of the year. Cole/MJF is right there too if Max could make it back.

Beard aside, he's still adorable. And this gimmick actually makes use of that. He's not putting on a pair of sunglasses to look like a dollar store stand-in for a Hollywood star. He's flashing that sweet, innocent, "Look at this face, do I really look like a bad guy?" smile while doing heinous acts. It feels like it's built up and from his existing look and vibe, not like a coat of paint on top of him. Jack Perry:

If Swerve Strickland ends up vanquishing the Elite, that will be another result of the Butterfly Effect.
