Honestly, I think we're nearing the point where Jericho's done everything he really can in AEW. He's been world champ, he's been in trios stuff, he's been in tag stuff. It's really starting to feel like AEW doesn't need him anymore. When you look back, I think you can say Jericho's first title run helped establish the company's legitimacy but I'm not totally certain he's done THAT much beyond that. Inner Circle was kind of a bust in terms of making stars. Jericho Appreciation Society kind of helped Garcia and 2.0 but Garcia kind of ended up needing to become a folk hero to get over. It seems like the last 3 years of Jericho in AEW have been more about people going "oh wow, Jericho still has it!" instead of him actually making new stars. Not sure that's a good thing. Yeah before he would kill the momentum of people, but still be able to maintain the 'aura' of Jericho-ness. Now even that is dissipating, and the mediocrity of his angles and stories are effecting HIM. That's crazy to think about. He used to be relatively bulletproof, but now not so much.

Honestly, I love Jericho, he's 100% in the discussion for Greatest of All Time, but it's time to hang it up, or at the very least go part time. He doesn't need to be wrestling anymore, he has money and outside interests and at this point it just feels like he's damaging his legacy with each passing match. He needs to wrestle like a spectacle. Working a regular like worker schedule is doing him no favors He had a regular schedule in 2022 and that was by a fair amount the best in ring year of his career. The Eddie feud went on WAY too long and ended like dogshit, but he had probably 5-7 of the 10-15 best matches of his career that year. But that's just kinda gone now. The in ring work and interesting matches are done. He's just really slow, his feuds don't end, his promos are worse than they've ever been, and he constantly finds his way into shows to bring them to a halt. He's the anchor of an AEW that has a ton of momentum.

I wouldn't mind seeing Joe murderize him.
Edit: Just looked through the whole roster page and there's genuinely no other Jericho match I'd care to see

Dude could really use a break..I mean like, an actual break for months. He's been on this show constantly since the start, and it's like how can we miss you if you don't go away? Also him being a constant presence on the show actually makes him feel like a bit of a relic. He's the same dude since 2019 while everyone and everything around him has changed at least somewhat.

But this is where the, maybe, hard talk comes in in how to best present him. He needs a hard, shocking out of nowhere heel turn. Then enlist 2-3 guys with him. Opposite of JAS. It needs weight. And have Jericho really get those guys over. Get the act over but all with Jericho taking a sort of front—backseat role in it. I keep saying it, it reminds me of flair at the offset of Evolution. That’s what Jericho needs and how he’d be best presented and utilized.

Got a feeling Hook is going to make him tap out in his home country next week and that’s either going to lead to a hiatus or more likely a heel turn with him demolishing Hook with chairs after the match enraging one of his co-commentators.

Include me in the group that think HOOK is winning clean on Wednesday and Jericho snaps since it’s a loss in Canada, crowds turning on him but cheering HOOK and taking the attention away from him. Basically the feud they should have done with HOOK/Starks (minus the Canada bit obvs).
I do wonder if they’ll also include Sammy in this. Having him make a fake-save on Wednesday where he also turns on HOOK and joins in the beat down could work. A HOOK/Sammy feud and match series has more potential than Jericho/HOOK, maybe even lead to Jericho/Sammy vs HOOK/Taz at Double or Nothing (assuming Taz can actually manage one match).
My biggest worry is they’ll just repeat the Atlantis Jr finish with Taz throwing in the towel and do a generic rematch at Dynasty for the FTW title.

I'd have him take time off and return around a week or two before All in 2024 in August.

I say this as someone who's always loved him some Jericho: He just makes me sad and I honestly don't care to see him in the ring anymore.

I'm probably the biggest Jericho mark on here, but he needs to take a sabbatical for a little while.
He's overexposed at the moment and his current gimmick as the respectable veteran isn't really working. Take some time away, reinvent and come back stronger like he usually does. Failing that, do more commentary. I thought he really brought a lot of life to the announce desk. Anything is better than Taz & Excalibur's Abbott & Costello patter.

We’re really witnessing the sad old phase of Jericho. We knew this time would come. So has he, whether he’s willing to admit it or not. The last year hasn’t been kind. Specially compared to his last few years.
Actually made me look up Christian’s age, cuz he’s still great. 50 & 53.

He does need a break from wrestling. Feels like he's wrestling each week, trying new things in hope that something will stick and it's not.
If he still wants to be involved, stick him on commentary for a few months, just stop the matches for a bit and see what develops. He could slow build a potential match from the comm desk for later in the year. People be nore interested in seeing him then.
There is a space on Collision commentary desk. But saying that has he ever worked Collision? Maybe he doesnt wanna work Saturdays

He is about to get the same treatment Punk got last year in AEW by the Toronto crowd.
