Awful offensive lines are the death of franchise QB hopefuls. Don't want to see what happened to Andrew Luck happen to Maye. they were getting to the point where the entire team would revolt if there wasn't a change evidently. i don't think putting him in there is the wise thing to do but i can totally see why they'd feel like they have no choice now. at least Maye can definitely move, he'll get plenty of scramble yards.

Were such a weak fan base here that we worry about worst case scenarios instead of hoping for the best and rolling the dice. Rookie QB, a couple rookie WR and a second year WR. Offensively it’s what you’d hope to see on any given week to get some hope for the future. I’m not ok with waiting for the Pats O line to look like the early 90s cowboys before starting him I don't think it's unreasonable to be hesitant about starting the quarterback you've drafted third overall and designated as the savior of the franchise behind an offensive line that currently consists of: - The backup LT, who is the fourth different starting LT in the first five weeks of the season - The third-string LG, who was on the practice squad until week 3 - The backup C - A starting RG, who was signed to be the starting RT - The backup RT, who was claimed off waivers in the summer and started at LT for a game before transitioning to RT I'm not expecting them to become this era's version of The Hogs before you can start Drake Maye, but I'd definitely rather see there be some level of continuity on the offensive line, rather than the current musical chairs operation, before entrusting them to protect the future of the franchise. There’s a high likelihood that Drake Maye is a failure. In fact most first round QBs are . He’s coming from a mediocre program against subpar competition and his last season wasn’t anything great. He could also just absolutely flourish, size and skill wise the dudes a prototype and an absolute dream prospect. If he gets banged up along the way sit him. But give him some reps and see what you have

I'd rather they sit Maye until the offensive line is at least representative than rush him out there to see what you've got. Most quarterbacks fail because they're just not very good. But there's also something to be said for institutional stability. I'm a firm believer that if Patrick Mahomes were drafted to the Bears in 2017, for example, he would have been league average instead of a generational talent that we see in Kansas City, because that team and organization was a mess. Conversely, someone like Trey Lance couldn't have landed in a better situation than he did when he was drafted by the 49ers in 2021, but he flopped because he's just not a good quarterback. That's why I say get the organization right before installing the quarterback, because you give yourself better odds.

Ashy Hackett won't be calling offensive plays on the Jets anymore. Makes the firing of Saleh look more and more like Woody being Woody than some Rodgers power play.

I don’t think that it means a thing. The interim coach was apparently part of the group Saleh consulted about demoting Hackett and they all reached the same conclusion. It just was put into action by a different HC than the one who initiated it. The only way to protect Hackett would be to fire the new HC as well, but then there’s no masking what motivated the initial firing.

It’s what we expected tbh, offseason fan morale was at an all time low after that Packers game in January. I’m all for a losing season in hopes it would be a kick in the ass Jerry needs to make shit right, but as long as folks keep packing AT&T and he has his power and money I doubt he gives a shit.
I’m barely watching, I’ll stick with my other teams who are at least trying to win. If that makes me fairweather, so be it.

Same Old Jets. You love to see it. I'm waiting for the day they trade their future away for Davante Adams and he goes down a week or 2 later because the Jets can and will never have anything go their way.

Dawg the cowboys are a monstrosity Seeing how good the Commanders are this year and how bad Dallas' defense looks now, I think it's safe to say Dan Quinn was the glue holding that team together.

So Jerry jones is clearly showing the stress of the cowboys on field troubles. He went on a radio host.

Fun Jets fact (well, not so fun if you're a Jets fan):
Through the first six games of the season with Zack Wilson as quarterback, the 2023 Jets scored 113 points.
Through the first six games of the season with Aaron Rodgers as quarterback, the 2024 Jets have scored 113 points.
