The Colts have designated DeForest Buckner to return from IR. That can make a serious difference.

Josh Reynolds, Denver's high profile WR signing this last of season, was shot 2 times last Friday night, once in the left arm and once in the back of the head. He was treated for minor injuries and released from the hospital.

Wonder how long before heads start rolling in Dallas
3-4, Winless at home, the Commanders have leaped them in the standings, "All In" while improving nothing to the roster (Which is on Jerry but he'll never take the fall hence heads rolling), winless at home still this year, Dak looks completely hopeless after the big extension, the run game is the worst in the NFL, so down bad they're trying to jumpstart it with 2024 DALVIN COOK
I have to imagine if they drop the next game to the Falcon's too, this is not gonna be pretty.

You know what’s irritating? My team’s (Colts) QB has a lot of people squawking about his play yesterday that did not watch the game. Did he actually play fantastic? Heck no, but he did, in fact, play better than his box score suggests.
Has he had accuracy issues this season? Absolutely, and he did have 3 errant passes in this game. However, it is worth exploring what the other incompletions were due to:
First, let’s discuss the drops. I’m guessing that the Colts pass catchers were surprised that so many of his passes actually hit them square in the hands that they simply were not actually concentrating on actually catching the ball. I know of at least 5 drops, most of which were on 3rd downs and therefore drive killers, including a couple of should-be TDs that were spot on and simply dropped by the receiver.
AD Mitchell especially irked me because he clearly rarely faced good coverage in college and has shown a propensity to let up on routes, short arm passes, and look upfield before completing the catch. What’s especially galling is that he definitely is a tremendous route runner who gets open easily, but his concerns over contact means that most of the passes Richardson sends his way are wasted passes. I’m not upset about the TD he couldn’t convert, however. Rookies tend to need to work on getting both feet down near the sidelines.
Another stat that stands out from the box score, at least if you look for them, is that the Texans had 10 passes defended. That means 10 times Richardson actually had accurate passes that were knocked down by the defender. Granted, some of those are on Richardson for taking too long to deliver the pass, but a fair number were from the defender simply making a great play.
There were also a handful of throwaways to avoid a sack. The Texans definitely took advantage of the fact that the top three receivers (Pittman, Pierce, and Downs) are all playing hurt and tried to limit Richardson’s scrambling opportunities. I don’t know if the receivers struggled to get open or if Richardson didn’t find open receivers, but he had to avoid a ton of pressures and tossed off an impressive number of defensive linemen to get out of sacks, but it did mean that he had a number of passes whose target was the turf or the sidelines.
Lastly, I’m also irritated about the nagging about voluntarily sitting out a play because he was tired. He just had two consecutive plays where he had to shrug off a would be sack by a 300 lb DT and attempt to scramble away from the pressure, taking several hits along the way. He took a tackle and landed falling onto the ball with his chest, which often knocks the wind out of HBs who call in to be replaced for a play or two to catch their breath. The fact that Richardson did the same in order to avoid potentially screwing up field position in scoring position is actually not a bad thing in my eyes.

I said this in the week thread, but I hope the Giants don't overreact and fire Schoen and Daboll. Despite the record, I like a lot of what they're doing, especially given the circumstances they found themselves in thanks to Gettleman. Only real mark against Schoen as a GM is that Evan Neal is a massive bust. But other than that, he's been pretty good in the draft and free agent signings.
Your biggest problem is at quarterback and unfortunately when the QB isn't good, it really sets your team back. I think this season is proof that Daniel Jones is not the guy. The other biggest problem is that you and your co-tenants have the worst home field "advantage" in the NFL. But that's up to John Mara, Steve Tisch, and, unfortunately for both teams and their fanbases, Woody Johnson to deal with.

The fact that Richardson did the same in order to avoid potentially screwing up field position in scoring position is actually not a bad thing in my eyes. Anthony Richardson just got benched. I saw. They say it’s so he can reset himself while not dealing with the pressure and develop that way. Honestly, I think the fact that he’s gotten injured so often early on has made Steichen gun-shy to play-call to his strengths. Honestly, had they done it after any other game this season I’d have less issue with it. It’s just this game was one where he’s catching the blame when EVERYONE on offense not named Taylor and Downs just shit the bed. - if Steichen plays more run plays then play action, which many of AR’s completions came from, gets opened up. Plus, Taylor was carving them up. He should have been fed more. To be fair to Steichen, he definitely called more run plays that Nelson kept killing by taking off on his pulls too early. - 2 starting O-linemen (Kelly and Smith) have been playing hurt. Riemann apparently suffered a concussion during the game, which probably played into his abnormally abysmal game. Nelson got a bunch of pre-snap penalties (as mentioned earlier). The injury to Fries had a rookie UDFA playing RG. Yes, AR held the ball too long but I don’t know if that was on him or the receivers. - I mentioned the receivers on the previous post, but maybe they should let MPJ properly heal. I’m reluctant to start Mitchell in his place, but a rotation of him and Dulin should be okay for a game or two. I’d also take a good look at Pierce’s shoulder as he was off as well. In the end, I don’t like this unless it is only for a few games. Let him stop reeling, settle down, and reset. Otherwise this is an awful decision.
