My stance on Will Ospreay is that if he is intent on having the type of match he's had with Takeahita and Fletcher every single time he steps in the ring in AEW, by the end of the summer crowds and fan reaction in general will have massively cooled on him sheerly through diminishing returns. You can't go out and do the high octane, super reversal, huge spots, spam kickouts and near falls every single week and expect people to react just as much for it. It's worked so far for him cause he was appearing only a handful of times a year for AEW. Now he's doing it every week. As someone who watched NJPW religiously from 2018 to the middle of last year, man, that shit gets old. Real old. I can't tell you the amount of Ospreay matches people have raved about the last two years and I've just gone 'eh, it's fine'. He doesn't elicit any emotion in me outside of 'oh he's a really good athlete'. And I think that caps him in a way it doesn't cap a lot of the top guys/future top guys in AEW. One thing Kenny had going for him big time is that he would work a lot more mid-tier Kenny matches. You'd see him go in against guys like Jack Evans or Joey Janela, and he'd have by all accounts a good match, but not a big Kenny Omega Epic Match. He'd get his stuff in and look amazing having just a good TV sprint with a talented dance partner, but he spared the "Kenny Omega matches" for when they seemed warranted, instead of making everything an epic clash, which is why Kenny's actual epic clashes got to stand out more. Ospreay's proven he can work a huge match but he really needs to prove he can work a normal-ass AEW TV match, and it's not even an issue of needing to establish him as a super talented guy because a super talented guy has no excuse to not look great by just actually winning a normal-ass match. And it's why I love and look forward to a Kenny Omega match much more than a Will Ospreay match. Kenny knows when to go big. A lot of it is down to the fact his body can't go as much as it used to, but even in his prime, he knew when to break out the big perfomances and when to dial it back but still be hugely entertaining. The greats tailor their matches to their opponent's strengths. Kenny does it. Danielson has done it for 20 plus years. Tanahashi has been a master of it for a similar time. Bret was the pioneer of it. Cena figured it out after a few years at the top and has been one of the best to ever do it since. Mox even does it, it may seem like he has the same brawl with whoever his opponent is but he's so good at subtlety taking his opponent's energy and tailoring it to the match they're having. I don't see that with Ospreay. He does his stuff, all his reversals, all his signature moves and spots no matter the opponent. With some it works better than with others but so many of his matches are interchangeable to me. Swap out the opponents and it doesn't seem to matter.

As close to the top as Rob Lowe got in Wayne’s World, Ospreay is no one's bruv. If Ospreay were an ice cream flavor, he'd be pralines and dick.

Johnny Gargano hit that. I love Johnny, but he had that stretch of kicking out of everything (he's even acknowledged during a stream that he kicked out of a lot), and his matches weren't as exciting, because we've seen it before a lot. It's the saying "less is more", if every single match is an exciting kickout fest then an exciting kickout fest is by definition a normal match.

I don’t see TK growing tired of Billy Bruv unless something really insane happens.

Don't none of y'all listen to theme song lyrics?
The sky.
OSPREAY OSPREAY is quickly catching up on KAZE NI NARE as one of my favorite crowd theme song chants.

The word Bruv getting over with North American wrestling fans is not something I’d thought I’d see.

I think if he can avoid issues outside the ring and injuries he'll be the face of the company. He's the best in ring worker in the world, arguably the best ever when you look at the sheer consistency and regularity with which he delivers some of the best matches you've ever seen, is already mega over in AEW and is a more than solid promo these days, with some being legitimately excellent like the one with Jericho before All In and his one at Big Business, has a fantastic entrance and looks like a star when he comes out plus his whole 'Bruv' thing seems to have really caught on in the States already and AEW's biggest event takes place in his home country so there's scope for amazing moments there. It's all there for him. Best ever? HOW? Don't let star ratings and YouTube comments cloud your mind. Oz will be a footnote in wrestling history. And I'm a fan of his. Utter bollocks.

When all said and done Will could be considered best ever in same way Bryan Danielson is considered best ever.

After Mercedes stumbling over her scripted words it highlighted how natural he sounds when talking. With the added bonus of an accent and venacular unique in North American wrestling.
So promo wise he's good too.

So promo wise he's good too. I don't know. Maybe it's just me, but his voice is so low-pitched and gravelly that sometimes it's hard for me to make out what he's saying. Like, he sounds like he smokes 3 packs a day, to me.

I saw only handful of his matches before signing with AEW. That being said, he carries himself like a main eventer and is truly a breath of fresh air in my wrestling viewings - banger after banger! As hype'd about him vs. AmDrag as I was about Omega vs. AmDrag. He popped out of nowhere for me! Awesome.

Looking at the crowd reactions and TV ratings. TK REALLY should push Ospreay hard because Ospreay has caught on with fans very quickly.
