Full Match: The Miz vs. John Cena at Wrestlemania 27

I had heard things about this match but never watched it. Saw WWE posted the match and took a look.

What a hot mess this match was for a main event and title match.

It seems off the Cena dive over the barricade, Miz looks like he's not the same at all. Seems his head is not there and he is struggling to stand up.

Then there's The Rock non sense. He just made BOTH guys look like huge idiots and no one came out of the match looking good at all.

Whoever booked this match should absolutely be shamed, one of the worst main events in Wrestlemania history.

I think the worst thing here is that you see Rock shoehorn himself to a feud that wasn't really needed yet. He can stir shit up with Cena later in the year.

So both Cena and Miz are completely downgraded while the rock completely overshadows both and takes their heat away.

He was out of the company for years, comes back in and takes over. Brutal.

Miz deserved so much better than this. Not just the match, not just the Mania build where he may as well have worn a shirt that says "I'm here too", but his entire reign was complete dogshit

At the very least, Jerry could've vacated and we do Rock vs Cena a year early.

This match sucked so bad. Even Rock screwing over Cena didn't feel like a huge Mania ending when they just had a way better segment together on the go-home Raw with a much hotter Chicago crowd than Atlanta at Mania was.

27 in general is second only to 11 in terms of worst Manias to me. Taker/HHH is the main thing keeping it from the bottom plus Cody/Rey and Orton/Punk being pretty good too.

People not watching at the time might think it was weird to have Miz in the main event but at the time it seemed logical. He was the hottest rising heel in 2010 and a lot of big stars had left. Within a year from late 2009 to late 2010 HBK retired, Batista/Hardy/Jericho left, Taker/HHH went part-time and Punk/Bryan hadn't reached their peak yet. In early 2011 it was slim pickings to the point that for months the top 3 matches for Mania were rumored to be Miz/Cena, Sheamus/HHH and Barrett/Taker which doesn't exactly scream star power. I feel like they would have done their worst Mania PPV buys in years if Rock didn't get involved.

Miz was def knocked loopy at some point, the way he looks and acts, Ref and Cena too, after the AA kickout, for sure after the barricade spot, tells you he's not all there.

As I recall, Cena got knocked loopy in the opening minute or two taking a bump out of the Irish whip into the corner, so his timing was all off for most of the match.

Miz's head bouncing off the concrete in the countout spot left him so concussed that to this day he has almost no memory of that entire day, and no memory whatsoever of the match.

I hate that Miz barely remembers being in the WrestleMania main event because he got concussed right at the start of it.

I'm just going to say it, Miz is completely out of his element and isn't the guy to be a capable long term main event champion, let alone a guy you want to close a show out on. He can give you the basics, but that's it. And after Cena had his monster run beating as many top guys that he did, this was a downgrade to him. They almost needed a third person for the match.

I know that Jerry Lawler winning the title is kind of seen as a joke, but I could at least see Lawler versus some muscle for Cole in Jack Swagger for the title. I don't think it would be a great match, but Lawler is a seasoned veteran at knowing how to tell a story no matter how old he is.
