The bright side to a PPV being a mile from my house is that if Drew wins a match I'll be able to hear it!

I want Drew to break out some Smiths. I think "Heaven Knows I’m Miserable Now" is apropos.

I mean, last year's event wasn't held at a castle either. It's a very short walk to the castle from the stadium at Cardiff so it kind of made sense. This does not! Ah ok, fair enough.

City councils in the UK won't pay for it, because apart from there being no money, there's no tradition of councils bidding for events in the UK. All In, Money In The Bank and the last Clash At The Castle didn't get that type of deal. Clash at the Castle did, it eventually came out that they paid £2.4m for it. They did get about £20m for the economy in return but people were still kind of miffed that they paid money that could have gone anywhere else for a short term boost. The first two, well, London doesn't need to bid because that space for the O2 can go somewhere else. All In had the advantage of Shahid being able to deal for an extra day at Wembley along with the Jaguars matches already happening there and I presume the sales of tickets basically lead to them going "Yeah, we'll gladly do this again". If All In didn't happen, I just presume they'd just go "Hey Taylor Swift, want an extra date between your two other shows?" just like how All In this year is able to squeeze between the two Swift shows happening. Didn't know that about Cardiff. But you're spot on about London. Greenwich borough won't generate huge sums of cash because everyone gets the tube there, so it would have to be the London Development Agency, and they've got less funds than the council. Wembley also has the restriction of being considered part of a residential area, so there's a limit to the number of events they can have on (which increased a few years ago) and demand exceeds supply, and the more slots they can get rid of at the same time, the fewer promoters they have to deal with.

Meta Four better get a spot on the show with Noam being Scottish. I hope he gets his baby (The Heritage Cup) back at the show. That would be more emotional for everyone than Drew winning the title 😋

I’m chuckling to myself thinking of the wrestlers & tv audience trying to work out what the crowd chants are 🤣

Going to be a bit mental in Glasgow that weekend I would think. Competing against Scotland playing in the Euros and the Euros in general will be tough but I’m sure people will come all over for the show and there will be plenty that have no interest in football. The Friday for Smackdown in particular will be a tough night for whoever is working in the area.
I did go to Clash 2 years ago but that was a 70,000 seater venue and this is an Arena so I probably won’t be getting tickets (they were sold out pretty quickly for MITB last year) plus the Euros being on the same time means I can just sit at home and watch that. Thankfully England don’t play until Sunday!

They are doing smackdown in Glasgow on the same day as the game though It'd be hilarious if Scotland manage to get a result only for the celebrations to completely derail the show. It'd make the Bayley incident look benign. Not too surprised they settled on the Hydro. Murrayfield has Taylor Swift around that same time, so wouldn't be enough time to switch the sets around, and Hampden typically has a bunch of gigs this time of year two. Celtic Park and Ibrox would be the only other options for stadium shows, but it's very rare for them to host these kinda events. Besides, it's Scotland, the odds of it pissing down during the show is still pretty high in June.
Didn't know Miss Swift was here tbh, not my jam but it makes sense for hydro. It'll be a good atmosphere I'm sure regardless but if the game is say 5pm....they'll be a lot of tanked up wrestling fans. Scottish weather is guff tbf, we get a handful of decent days normally with a few good summers.

I know I said flower of Scotland that drew should sing after he wins in Glasgow, and I said that because he couldn’t have it be played before the match, as knowing how proud drew of being Scottish, he’d be in no shape to wrestle after it.

I don't see the point in doing PLEs in small arenas overseas. It isn't worth the time, money, or hassle. They should do big stadiums shows or stay home when it comes to big events overseas. They can always do a regular tour at some point.
