Has anybody become a big fan of Marigold that wasn't already a fan of Stardom? It kinda bugs me that neither of those promotions manage to hook me when theoretically it should be exactly what I like. It's not like there's something I can easily point to.
On the flipside I really like Sendai Girls. Maybe it's just because I'm already a fan of much of the roster and guests and I don't have that attachment in Marigold(/Stardom). However even then Lena Kross was new to me and stood out more than the the non Bozilla gaijin in marigold who I haven't liked at all. I'm also more forgiving of say Nina Samuels' having a dispointing showing compared to a Marigold equivalent because I've seen her at her best whereas I'm unfamiliar with the others.
I think it largely comes back to there not being easy entry point or stand out gimmicks to latch onto other than Bozilla and the history that pre-dates Marigold weighs heavy in a way it doesn't elsewhere. It never felt as necessary to know the history in say TJPW or DDT to enjoy their shows when I started watching those. I think it makes it very rewarding for long-term fans, not so much for anybody else, which is why I'm curious what those going in cold feel.

Can see someone from NXT coming in for the dream stream grand prix. Other than that I think Rossy is for more focused on his own roster right now with the slew of new talent he just brought in and still has some trainees that are yet to debut. |
