While there are physical advantages to a biological male competing in a female competitive sport I have been on HRT for almost eight years. You have absolutely no idea what the hell you're talking about. Please, and I say this with the utmost respect, get the hell out of here with that bullshit. It's not based in reality. And no, I will not debate, because I know where these kinds of conversations always end up. My existence, Nyla's existence and the existence of any trans, nonbinary or intersex people reading this right now, is not up for a debate.

Some people have the idea that cisgender men are saying they're trans so they can have a much easier time against cisgender women. And that just doesn't happen. Most, if not all athletic organizations that allow trans women to compete with other women have strict guidelines to ensure that.

The first out trans woman to compete in Olympic weightlifting didn't get a medal and didn't even finish her lift. This whole 'advantage' thing is junk based on got feelings and listening to people who have their own gut feelingsd and it's all just feeding out the talking points of bigots because science and what few places trans athletes have been able to eke out any sort of placement have not come down on any sort of hint there's something to this. The science isn't there and if you haven't even perceived the science, think better of repeating the idea there is some out there because you're, accidentally or not, sharing and promoting the ideas of bigots who are lying.

Yeah I think it really needs to be spelled out that Trans Athletes even in legitimate sports don't just auto win their sports, like at all
It's almost like Men and Women athletes are just really good at what they do and being Trans does not give you some insane advantage and unfair competition. It's basically a phobia instilled by people who ban them from sports that it does... and it doesn't.

Plus, as said before, people are saying that this is happening in a world where Dude Wipes apparently need to culturally be a thing. Get outta here with that conspiratorial nonsense.

Shaq has a 67.9% win percentage; dude didn't win every single game because he's tall. And the whole "guy says he identifies as a woman so he can" nonsense that gets parroted around never happens that way; as said before, there's rules to this. Also, f*** the Oklahoma Athletic Commission.

You know, despite one stunningly bad comment, I'm very happy with this board when it comes to issues like this. Very much circle the wagons and shut down any bullshit. Part of the reason why Reddit and other places like it will never be my go to place for talking about wrestling.

I don't knwo if we're remembering the same thing, but the one I remember was worse: it was, inexplicably, Sammy Guevara. THey got transphobic about Sammy Guevara.

I remember the Nyla incident in a live thread. It was quite heartwarming to see the usual live thread shit posting instantly stop so everyone could call out the post.

I remember the Sammy one and how everyone came together like freakin' Avengers Endgame to go "wtf dude." Though the person who said that I'm not sure if they were outright transphobic so much as a f***ing moron who didn't understand what words mean.

The person who said it was someone who had a reputation for being a piece of shit already, but that was where they stepped over the line. And when called out, their response was, "oh yeah, I forgot it's not OK to say that anymore." Which tells you everything you need to know about the guy.

I've seen people (not here) get transphobia about Max the Impaler competing in the women's division even though they're AFAB. Imagine being so transphobic that you're even complaining about someone being in their assigned at birth division.

Though the person who said that I'm not sure if they were outright transphobic so much as a f***ing moron who didn't understand what words mean. I actually went back and reread that thread this morning. This was at the height of Sammy Guevara hate on the board, and the comment was along the lines of "between Guevara, Zayn and Sammy (from the infamous Mark Henry angle), I'd rather have [slur] back on TV". They were called out by half the thread and defaulted to, "oh yeah, that word's not OK anymore". People then called them out for that, so they posted a non-apology along the lines of "I was trying to make a bad joke, but I couldn't remember anything about the character beyond their name being Sammy. I'll try to do better." They then got called out for THAT, so they were like, "OK, I've overstayed my welcome". Then a mod came in after the show and announced they'd banned that person. Which rarely happens. They f***ed up so bad that got the treatment previously reserved for sex pests.

This actually dovetails really nicely into a note on the trans sports topic and the "well in a real sport blah blah blah" crap: Mack Beggs, a transmasc high school wrestler who was forced by Texas to wrestle girls despite already transitioning on a low dose of testosterone. A state champion wrestler who went undefeated facing girls to lots of controversy and backlash, to claims he was just 'cheating' to beat the girls harder. But he didn't want to face girls; the state forced him to. The trans athlete getting the unfair advantage got it because the state refused to recognize him as male and let him wrestle other men, and it still got him shit, because these things aren't about fair sports. The intentions here are to hurt people.

The intentions here are to hurt people. That right there is transphobia in sports at it's worst. They left him with two, equally horrendous choices: 1. stop taking testosterone to keep the playing field level (i.e. stop transitioning) or 2. not wrestle at all. Like you said, there is no fairness here. It's punishing someone for having the audacity (in those people's eyes) to be transgender.

Nyla breaks her silence on a particular athletic commission... the one that has her as tag champs with Serpentico.
