Let's address the elephant in the room. Is this bound to happen now that we have been some crossover between WWE and TNA?
If WWE does purchase TNA, I don't see them carrying over the brand like AEW did with ROH. It would be similar to buying WCW, which they utilize the tape library and then absorb some of the big-name contracts to integrate into NXT.
What do you think? How likely is this to happen, say...by 2025? or 2026?

Highly unlikely this decade, unless something catastrophic happens and they buy the IP and the tape library super cheap.
I can't see how buying another company helps TKO's books in terms of the next five years of WWE.

Not sure they get much out of buying TNA in its current form, and this is a bad time for TKO to be spending a bunch of money on something they super don't need that isn't going to make them anything. They can't even use it to bolster a streaming service now because the Network is going away.

If Vince were in charge, I would say it's a little more likely, if only out of spite. But did he ever care about TNA? I don't think TKO would care since they have interests outside of wrestling too, and there isn't much to be gained by running smaller people out of town at this point. I can't see the tape library being worth much, either.

It is more more beneficial for both to have a working relationship than for WWE to just buy them out...WWE has more than enough talent that they know what to do with and the last thing they need is even more.
So no unless Anthem just wants TNA as a whole off their books.

Wouldn’t hurt to have a place to send an NXT guy to for a few months when you aren’t ready to bring him up. EDIT: And it would more or less give them first dibs on negotiating with TNA talent.

If it was Vince or say 2016ish HHH that wanted his global NXTs to turn TNA into NXT Canada, but TKO execs I can't see wanting to spend any kind of money.
I imagine the partnership with TNA this year will result in some more crossover matches that stay hilariously lopsided in WWE's favor booking wise because they can't help themselves.

I’d say no but TNA seemingly can’t help but do extremely stupid things every once in a while so you never know

At MSG, everything feels epic. At the PC parking lot, you're in constant danger. At the Impact Zone, you must always be on guard in case of silly shit.

Like has been said, if Anthem doesn't want it anymore, but for Anthem it's cheap programming that's probably carried their tv network in ratings. Shit, their network isn't even on Hulu Live.
Then there would be the question for WWE of "How much is the tape library worth? And would it get us a few extra million from a streaming deal?", until then I don't see them buying it.

WWE would likely love that tape library, and first pick of a bunch of talent, but if they can find a way to get access to both without paying out too much....that seems the optimal option at this point

I don't think WWE is going to buy it but Anthem's done a f***ing spectacular job of killing the momentum it was building right at the start of 2024 with big names largely responsible for that momentum getting fired or leaving, causing plenty of contracts to start expiring without renewal on the talent end, and it's definitely not great
