It's for a thing that I may or may not end up doing but mostly out curiousity and I would like your help to find as many as possible, preferrably with the franchise they come from. A few parameters though before we start naming them:
1. They have to be specifically video game characters, which means no real wrestlers who happen to be in video games, otherwise we'd just end up listing a bunch of real wrestlers who've been in wrestling games. Oh, and characters who appear in adaptations or spin-offs of games but in actual video games as either a playable character or enemy don't count either;
2. They have to explicitly be pro wrestlers. I'm not counting characters who dress like wrestlers, or act like wrestlers, or are themed after pro wrestling but aren't explicitly stated to be such in game, and no character who just happens to have some wrestling moves within their arsenal, otherwise we'll be sitting here all day naming every fighting and beat 'em up character who happen to use a suplex.
3. They have to be actual characters. I'm not counting the myriad of lawyer-friendly expies of real wrestlers and generic ones from stuff like Fire Pro, Wrestling Empire, Total Extreme Wrestling games or even officially licensed wrestling games. UNLESS there is a story mode that gives them enough of a personality to justify viewing them as unique characters.
4. Spinning off from rules 1 & 3, I'm also not counting characters who are just straight rip-offs of real wresters. I WILL count wrestlers who are inspired by real but are different enough to be their own character such as King from Tekken, but I'm not gonna bother with countless Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage knock-offs.
Alright, with that in mind, here's my list off the top my head:
- Angel De LaMuerte (Saints Row)
- Armor King (Tekken)
- Azam (Street Fighter)
- Craig Marduk (Tekken. In one ending, he ends up becoming King's tag-team partner so I'm counting him)
- Darun Mister (Street Fighter / Fighting EX Layer)
- El Fuerte (Street Fighter)
- Hugo (Final Fight / Street Fighter)
- Jaycee/Julia (Tekken)
- Killbane (Saints Row)
- King (Tekken)
- King II (Tekken)
- Mike haggard (Street Fighter / Final Fight / Slam Masters)
- Raiden (Fatal Fury / King of Fighters)
- Rainbow Mika (Street Fighter)
- Ramon (King of Fighters)
- King of Dinosaurs/Tizoc (Garou/Fatal Fury/King of Fighters)
- Zangief (Street Fighter)
