In risk of talking about politics, but by now you may or may not know the big news is what just happened and I will leave it at that, anyway I have been looking forward to the return of Last Week Tonight With John Oliver for a while, they still tape on Saturday, if so they are going to be so out of date. How are they going to fix it, it is like Rick Rude on the taped Raw after he left for WCW. Good luck John. Maybe they scrap the whole opening segment and record a new one today?

I think one of the early Coronavirus episodes was done almost on the fly. Imagine they're having a busy afternoon today. They can always do an insert during the show, if they just feel they need to comment on it but there’s not enough information yet to do a longer piece. LWT seems to take as long as they have material, so it’s not like they’re stuck with a 30 minute show they have to air. |

No one discuss politics. This is your only warning. The next violation will get a suspension. I'm always surprised when I see threads about shows like this, the Daily Show or SNL pop up. Politics factor so heavily into them that I can't how they can be discussed without breaking the rules. SNL I can kind of understand, since they do a lot of straight comedy sketches, but LWT, Daily Show and other shows in that vein, don't see how it's really possible. |

As for Politics, I've always wondered what caused the shift because there was a 2016 election megathread here but past that I don't... believe there was one in 2020?
Like once 2016 happened, that was it.

Like once 2016 happened, that was it. 2020 was such a clusterf*** of a year with COVID, I don’t think anyone was in the mood for an Election thread and I don’t recall there being much demand for one. I might have considered discussing with the other staff about maybe doing one for the recent UK Election, considering it was obviously going to be such a changing of the guard but to the best of my knowledge, not one person asked for it. |

The most recent one even had a lengthy post by Madison Carter saying what was and wasn't permissible. And people still ignored it. So I can guess that probably had something to do with it. |
