People that think that the government set up explosives on the levees in New Orleans before Hurricane Katrina so that they could flood the city and get rid of all the black people. Wow. You see..even as a person who loathes this administrations policies..and as someone who really dislikes government in general..I dont go around throwing out accusations that there isnt concrete proof of. Why? Because if everybody kept throwing out conspiracies that have no factual background...then when the government actually DOES do what they are capable of noone is going to believe it because they will say its a "conspiracy theory." It's like this for me... Question everything, but be smart enough to accept the right answers.

call me crazy if you want, but I'm 100% certain there is alien life out there (Not because I have any proof, but its completely ignorant and arrogant to think that of all the planets and galaxies out there we are the ONLY FREAKING ONE WITH INTELLIGENT LIFEFORMS OR CIVILIZATIONS) but whether the government has information on that or not, I dont know. I won' t call you crazy because AT LAST I found someone who shares my views about extraterrestrial life. I think people who say "there' s no life anywhere else than on Earth, that' s a fact because I think so and those who think there are extraterrestrials are idiots" as just as annoying than thos who say "All the documents about aliens are true, and the governments tries to hide it". There are just some interesting things that can be taken into consideration and worked on, no need to say "it' s true" or "it' s wrong" just out of personnal opinion...

I studies UFO's and aliens for awhile..and I even knew they guy who held the Blue Book for some northern state..I forget which. Anyways..even he said there were too many incidents written in that book for none of them to have some basis in fact.

The only one that really pisses me off is 9-11. I don't need to go step by step toward all of their theories to prove them wrong, in fact, anyone with half a brain can prove them wrong simply by acting sane. As was already mentioned we are to suspect a government that couldn't kill Castro, couldn't pull off Bay of Pigs, couldn't steal papers from a Hotel, and couldn't save the Iranian Hostages magically gains +1000000000000 in managing conspiracy theories is absurd. Most of the "contradictions" they find are the reports given in the first five minutes in a rush when everyone was panicing and couldn't get the full picture and then look at what the studies found later and say, "OMG! BUcrapLER DID IT!" Or they look at grainy videos that prove nothing. And to take Maddox's point, if this is all true how come they arn't dead? Seriously. After Augusto Pinochet gained power in Chile the first thing he did was kill all of the leftists. Now, if the government is so evil, and only wants oil (that... I haven't seen mind you) then why in the hell arn't they quelling the opposition? Concidering the power we have compared to the power of Chile when Pinochet took hold I think it would be possible. After all, thousands of people worked together to orchestrate the greatest military attack in the history of humanity. How come Cindy Sheehan isn't dead, how come Alex Jones isn't dead, how come the Loose Change guys arn't dead? Because it's a lot less suspicous to simply say they're crazy. If you have them killed, then you're oubviously hiding something. If you say that the Loose Change people, etc. are bullshitters, it looks less suspicous.

It's also a good idea to not live in a country with two or more political parties. Then you won't have someone asking questions like: "Why didn't the Loose Change guys just go to Nancy Pelosi, Ted Kennedy or any of the other high name politicians who would really like it if they had something to kick George Bush out of office?" That's what really gets me about conspiracies. No one can be lazy or shortsighted or a hack who was in a job that's way over his/her head. Everyone's just....Doctor Doom.

I'm going to chime in because this all seems like good discussion. The biggest problem I have with the 9-11 consiracy theorists is this: If what they purport were actually proveable, it'd be on the front page of every newspaper, magazine, and internet news site in the world. Say that to them and they'll add another conspiracy about the media being sheep and just being another part of "the system" that will always protect itself. But in my 25 years, I've never seen the media go out of its way to protect "the system" or anyone else for that matter. Why would Newsweek and the New York Times (as well as every other media outlet) ignore them if they had such "overwheling evidence?" This would be the story of the century. Do they really believe that no reporter wants to be the one to break the story of the century?

For a government that can make a controlled demolition look like muslims, I don't think slowly fazing out people by natural circumstances will be a problem. And to further my point, if they really are sadistic bastards, why not just go totalitarian on us? The whole thing doesn't hold water.

The same could be said for every unobserved murder ever. It's different in that this particular murder is one of the most high profile ever and has been mired in controversey for decades.
