www.dailymotion.com/visited/search/flair%2Bhogan/video/xmo9r_hulk-hogan-vs-ric-flair-msg-1991From MSG in late 1991. You can really see what the WWF missed out on by not having them headline a PPV together. I have no idea if this match is from Primetime wrestling or a house show, I'm guessing Primetime because McMahon and Heenan are there. the energy in the building was electric, both guys went pillar to post, it was a hard fought, fast paced match. So nice to see both guys when they were still able to move. and listen to the ovation when Flair pins Hogan after hitting him with the brass knuckles! For some reason flair is carrying the WWF tag team strap

That's hilarious that they tried to block out the belt because they didn't want to look stupid for having him carry the wrong one. And damn, I'd forgotten how awesome Flair used to be.

Yeah those were awesome times and of course that's right after Flair had to give back the big gold belt. He did have another one that was made for him. I wonder what ever happend with that one. Unless it was a dream or something I thought he had another one.

I have one of their rematches from a handheld in July 1993, in not-so-great quality.
Hogan wins the match by DQ when he gets Yoko down with leg drop and Fuji runs hobbles in with the Japanese Flag and hits Hogan on the back with it.

Fuji is funny, I remember him looking like a wrinkled up 80 year old miser back when he managed Yokozuna...he could barely walk!
He was only 57 years old.
I'm surprised Hulk stuck around the WWF a month after KOTR 93, I don't think they even mentioned him on television.

Yes, of all the things the wwe screwed up this was the biggest not to have Hogan/Flair build up to a ppv match. This was a bigger miss than the Invasion screw up IMO.

this was a really good match. Both guys did a good job. God, I miss decent wrestling with real build ups and storylines... like this.

Another thing I noticed...after Flair pins Hogan, you can see Henning spitting on Hogan from across the ring.

By the time they started video distorting the belt, Flair had returned the NWA Title so they gave him a tag title to carry with him.

Does anybody know why WM 8's main event was changed? In my opinion, Hogan VS Flair could have been just as big as Hogan VS Andre.....
Yet, at WM8 we got Flair/Savage? WHY?

I think they didn't want Hogan jobbing out in his last match. Although I agree Hogan/Flair was a missed opportunity, it wouldn't have been nearly as good as Savage/Flair, which turned out to be a great match and started a great feud between the two that carried over to WCW.

Hogan was going on hiatus after WrestleMania VIII, so that meant he either had to job to Flair or have a DQ finish where Flair keeps the title. Both scenarios would have sucked. Hogan was not going to job to the face of the NWA (nor should he), and the WWF likes the happy endings at WrestleMania, so a face had to beat Flair for the belt. If Hogan were to stay on past WrestleMania, I'm sure the match would have happened (with Hogan winning the title). As for this match, it did air on MSG during the "MSG Classics" stuff over the summer/fall. It did NOT air on television at any other point.

Really, I have the original broadcast of that 11/30/91 MSG encounter with Flair/Hogan, which includes a "Tuesday In Texas" Event Center hosted by Sean Mooney during the intermission.

Damn!
Hogan seriously did more heelish things then Ric Flair. Hogan pushed the ref, threatened him, raked Flair's back, poked a finger in his eye, threw him into the railing and suplexed him on the outside.
While Flair raked Hogan's eyes, his back, used the ropes and used brass knuckles.
