It could maybe work, but it would be hard to book. And you could accidentally end up with someone being X-Division champ forever, or the polar opposite of a title swith every week.

Kevin Nash is Randy Jackson. they need a Simon character. Why hasn't a Simon character been done in wrestling? Because it wouldn't be funny. What he wouldn't be meant to be funny, just a smarmy jack ass who you want to get smacked with a rolling pin.

If I wanted to see shoot fighting I would watch shoot fighting.

Isn't this the same exact thing they did during the FSN era? The guys fought till they won or reached the time limit, and a judge would give a decision if time expired.

Well, it would definitely make TNA more of an alternative but I don't know if it'd be that entertaining. No pinfalls or submissions you say?

No. Just no. If I wanted shoot fighting, I'd watch UFC.
Or get into a drunk bar brawl, whatever comes first.

TNA seems to be doing everything in their power to get me to stop watching.

So let me get this straight: The booking team has an idea to have X-Division where wrestling is the main focus, and a time limit to have some decent-time for the matches(the ones on FSN had 10 minutes), and bring the focus on the wrestling side people wanted, instead of the comedy of Kevin Nash and Papparazi Productions AND YOU'RE COMPLAINING?! Geez, and you call yourself smarks.....

But it won't appeal to UFC fans, because they won't watch "that fake shit", even if they try to be like UFC.

I'm not fond of the idea either
I mean like someone said, what happens when the wrestlers go out of their way to make each other look bad.
Wrestler A: Okay, I'm gonna knock you down and hit a 630 splash. Okay?
Wrestler B: Dream on bud
Goddam Vince Russo has some ass-hatted ideas.........And yes I know Russo hasn't been named but this has him written right through it

being a MMA fan i think this would be really cool, really hard, but really cool. they need to do something with the x-division its comepletly fallen on its ass.
and i have a sneaky suspicion that with UFC doing so well on Spike, that maybe this is a Spike TV idea.

Doing so well? The ratings are lower than iMPACT's. Unless you meant something else entirley.

I Like the ideas of judges and makeing it more wrestling based...but turning it into a shoot just seems like a complete disaster.

No way in hell we're getting real shoots. Not gonna happen.
I DO want to see them do something to really differentiate the X-Division from the rest of the show, and putting it in a fight format like this would be a cool step, if executed properly.
I said this in another thread: imagine that someone like Angle gets fed up with the World Title scene, and decides to take a shot at the X-Division title. Well, due to the division being very different from the rest of the show, Angle must now adjust his gameplan and style if he wants to thrive in the new environment, thus making him an underdog going in. It'd sort of be like an extension of what ROH did with the Pure Title.
Of course, it could end up not working out at all, but, again, I dig the idea of making the X-Division something unique from the rest of the card.
