Some guys seemed to be timeless and could go no matter when (See Curt Hennig in 2002 who seemed to be in the same shape as Curt Hennig in 1993), then others, no matter how much you love them, there comes a time where you just shake your head and look away.
For me, that was a match I downloaded the other day from an indy fed called JAP, Vader/Mike Awesome vs Samoa Joe/Dan Maff. Now, I've got no clue who this Maff guy is, but Awesome, Vader, and Joe in the same ring should've been MURDEROUS.
It....was terrible. Vader was hugely overweight and terribly immobile. His entire offense consisted of punches, palm thrusts, a vertical suplex and some sluggish Vader Attacks, and one Vader Bomb that I'm surprised didn't kill the guy taking it. Both he and Awesome looked like they could care less, and Joe didn't do ANYTHING besides a short flurry of kicks on Vader for the most part. Just sad.
Anyone have similar experiences to share?

The Great Muta is recent years isn't Muta anymore. It's just...sad watching him now knowing how great he used to be.

Is Awesome still wrestling on occasion, or is this from one of his last runs? p.s. Did he have the mullet?

As far as I know, Awesome has not wrestled since One Night Stand. He didn't have a mullet, but he had longish, stringy hair. Kinda like Stevie Richards when he was growing his hair back after being Steven Richards. Note: yep, found it on OWW. June of 2004

Hayabusa vs. Jushin Lyger.
Yes i know Hayabusa was a rookier but the match sucked(It is still better than anything on TV right now, but these two guys should be putting a 5 star match damn it!)
A shame Lyger never faced Hayabusa on his prime.

Yeah I forgot about Foley. How he went from brilliant at Royal Rumble 2000 to crap at WrestleMania 2000 is just mind boggling.

It's almost sad watching Flair wrestle today. Watching him beat people after punching them for 7 minutes. I can't believe this used to be Ric Flair.

Sting at Starrcade 97.
I'm not sure if it was the way the match was booked, or if the story was really true that Sting let himself go during the entire year that he was stalking Hogan.
I was happy that Sting won, but he looked lame in the match.
Also, Booker T/Bagwell on the first WCW RAW.
I can't believe how many spots were blown during this. Booker should've wrestled better than that. It was probably the fact that he was a WCW guy getting heat from everyone else.

I'll go for a more recent example with Eddie vs. Benoit at ONS 1.

Yeah I was live for Benoit/Eddie and it was totally underwhelming, but, I'm more talking about former greats who just cant go anymore. They were both capable of putting on a good match, but, from what I heard, Eddie was pissed and unmotivated and didn't want to job.

Damn near every match Rob Van Dam has had after returning last January. Also, Chris Benoit post-Crippler. So many of his moves went out the window to make room for a bunch of chops and about 9,000 German Suplexes.

The Great Muta is recent years isn't Muta anymore. It's just...sad watching him now knowing how great he used to be. I saw Muta wrestle last Friday in London, and it was a sad state of affairs... seriously, he should retire for his own sake. Also, Piper post-roughly 1992... after his IC title reign, it all went workwise all of a sudden... he used to be able to hang with guys despite his workrate not being stellar, but he just seemed to lose the ever-elusive 'it' all of a sudden. Jodie Fleisch isn't what he was, either.

A shame Lyger never faced Hayabusa on his prime. I actually enjoyed this match, if we're talking about the one from the Super-J Cup. It was a first round match, and really, I was expecting a good, short match, which is what I got. Oh, and it made my girlfriend a fan of Liger. So, maybe I'm biased.

The match vs. Rico kinda was the turning point for me. Plus the Eddie/Benoit match from ONS 2005, it was ridiculously obvious that Eddie was phoning it in and didn't give a shit about what was happening around him that night.

Steve Austin a few years after he got the next injury. He still put on good matches, but he was nowhere near the workrate he had when he was in WCW, ECW, and WWF before he broke his neck.
