It's almost sad watching Flair wrestle today. Watching him beat people after punching them for 7 minutes. I can't believe this used to be Ric Flair. Flair's performances nowadays are friggin awful. The match vs. Rico kinda was the turning point for me. Plus the Eddie/Benoit match from ONS 2005, it was ridiculously obvious that Eddie was phoning it in and didn't give a crap about what was happening around him that night. Yea. He didn't even sell the crossface at all. He was pissed cos he had to job and got a busted nose by accident.

How about the Amazing Red becoming the Greatly Underwhelming Red?

Remember, you said "favorite" and not "best." Brutus Beefcake was always one of my favorites, but his some of his recent indy matches have often been a mess. He wears a track suit type gear that makes him look like a Holstein cow, and he moves like he should have a cane in the ring. With the right opponent who sells like death it's still a fun time, but not exactly nostalgia.

Davey Boy when he returned to WWE in 1999 was pretty painful. I know he had some major back problems and health issues but it was a shame to see a man who just a few years earlier looked terrific.

Would the Big Show count? During his stinT in WCW and early WWF he was in great shape and could work. Towards the end his weight got out of contole and he could barely move.

I mean, for he and Chris being as tight as they were, you'd think he'd be cool with it. No idea why he acted like such an ass.

Anything Roddy has done after 1994 is scary to watch.
But i still enjoy it immensely.

No idea why he acted like such an ass. I dont think he wanted to be there at all. SOmething about ECW as a whole. See i don't know. If you find clips of Eddie from 2002 when WWE had temp fired him, he acted the exact same way. Even in ROH, who he gave mad props to, he looked pissed off. Still put on a great match with Super Crazy, but definitely pissed. And if you see his second ROH match, he's happy since he's back with the WWE this time around. So I don't know what the whole story is. I doubt he was pissed about jobbing to Benoit. Maybe he didn't want to be reminded of ECW? I don't know. Also, he was majorly heel at the time, so he may have wanted to maintain that character.

I can't agree with Foley - when he comes back he only has a small amount of training to get back in shape, but I saw him in an 8 man tag over here in the UK just over a year ago and he's still got it (unlike Sandman who jobbed in 2 mins of being in the ring). He can still put on a match that craps over 70% of what's on current tv.
Also with Flair, ok, he doesn't have half of what he did, but again, he knows when there is a big match on, he'll always lift his game. Take his feud with Edge for example, or even the cage match with Orton. Easily the most entertaining thing on the card. They just need to let him speak again!
The Amazing Red was bound to lose it quickly, as was Jody Fleisch - you can't keep up that kind of pace without destroying your body (although thinking about it, I'm amazed Jeff Hardy is still going).
For me, the most painful to watch at the minute is RVD - he just isn't the same to watch anymore. WHere I would go out of my way to watch an old ECW match with him in, I find myself skipping through any of his output in the last 2 years. Again, I know it's injuries, plus the crap he has to work with, but am I the only one who longs for the days of his matches against Jerry Lynn again? It's still my favourite sell of all time, the 3 foot bounce off his head on the canvas. **Sigh**
Also, as much as I hate myself for saying it, Steve Corino - still love his matches and promos but he hasn't got the hate-ability he once had...

Some guys seemed to be timeless and could go no matter when (See Curt Hennig in 2002 who seemed to be in the same shape as Curt Hennig in 1993) I can go no further in this thread. Are you referring to a different Curt Hennig? Because the one I watched in WWE in 2002 blew a spot in just about every match I saw him in.

Hayabusa vs. Jushin Lyger. Yes i know Hayabusa was a rookier but the match sucked(It is still better than anything on TV right now, but these two guys should be putting a 5 star match damn it!) A shame Lyger never faced Hayabusa on his prime. I actually enjoyed this match, if we're talking about the one from the Super-J Cup. It was a first round match, and really, I was expecting a good, short match, which is what I got. Oh, and it made my girlfriend a fan of Liger. So, maybe I'm biased. Don´t get me wrong, I LOVE this match. But me and you just know it could be 10 times better. Hayabusa was very green in that time. A shame he and Lyger had a argument years later...I really wanted to see Hayabusa in his prime vs. Lyger.

I was at that match as well. Anyway, I would have to say Raven in TNA lately. At that Monster's Ball, it was like he was tapping Joe with that chair. You couldn't even hear it whack.
