Inductee: Bruno Sammartino Potential Inductor(s): Vince McMahon, Triple H, Ivan Koloff, Pedro Morales, Bob Backlund Reasons For Induction: The longest-running title reign in wrestling history. WWE's first 2-time champ. His 2 title reigns combined give him the most days as champ in the history of the company. WWE's first mega-star. His popularity for his day was on par with Hogan and Austin. Potential Barriers: He has not been on good terms with Vince McMahon, and hates the current product. Every year, he refuses induction. What WWE must do to overcome barriers: Keep making the offer. Don't take no for an answer. Allow Bruno complete control over his speech. If he wants to say modern WWE sucks, let him say modern WWE sucks. Show great respect for his accomplishments and his era.
Inductee: Ted DiBiase Potential Inductor(s): Sensational Sherri, Virgil, IRS, JBL Reasons for Induction: Widely recognized as the greatest heel in the history of WWE, and arguably the greatest heel in the history of wrestling. Main-evented the finals of Wrestlemania IV, Summerslam 1988, and3 straight Survivor Series. Nearly won the 1989 Royal Rumble, and in 1990 set the record for longest Rumble time (broken a year later). 3-time tag champion, at one time tied for a WWF record. If the Million Dollar Title is recognized, he has held it more than any other wrestler. Potential Barriers: Was recently released as a road agent. Upset at the fact that none of his ideas were used while working in creative. His Christian values sometimes come into conflict with more risque storylines. What WWE must do to overcome barriers: Remind him of his huge fan base with older fans. Let him know this is for the WWE fans, who he said he would do anything for. Avoid involving him in anything he could consider offensive.
Inductee: Owen Hart Potential Inductor(s): Bret Hart Reasons for Induction: Arguably the greatest to never win the World Title. Had classic after classic with his brother. Beloved by fans and fellow wrestlers alike. Deserves proper recognition since his tragic death cut his life and potential as a wrestler short. Potential Barriers: Martha Hart won't have anything to do with WWE. What WWE must do to overcome barriers: Get Martha to give up control of Owen's estate, and put it in the hands of Bret.
Inductee: Bob Backlund Potential Inductor(s): Superstar Billy Graham, Arnold Skaaland (if still alive), Iron Sheik Reasons for Induction: Second-longest title reign behind Sammartino. Total of his 2 title reigns 3rd longest all time behind Sammartino and Hogan. In his day, was compared to Bret Hart. Potential Barriers: Does not like current WWE product, Vince McMahon's business model. Was never a sports-entertainer. What WWE must do to overcome barriers: See Sammartino. Remind him and the audience that Backlund was from a different time and different era. Let him know that he is an integral piece in WWE's history.
Inductee: Rick Steamboat Potential Inductor(s): Randy Savage, Ric Flair, Jimmy Snuka, Rob Van Dam Reasons for Induction: Had one of the greatest IC matches in history against Savage at WM3 (on 20th anniversary, this would be optimal). May be Flair's greatest rival, with their series of matches one of the greatest and most talked-about feuds in wrestling history. Was a cornerstone of the NWA, and could have been one in the WWF. Potential Barriers: He and Vince had a falling-out that led to his burial and dismissal. He was hesitant to return, but is currently a road agent. What WWE must do to overcome barriers: Steamboat is currently employed by the company, so hostility may be abated. Let him know the importance of his contributions not just to WWE, but to wrestling as a whole make him deserve induction.
Inductee: Randy Savage Potential Inductor(s): Sensational Sherri, Rick Steamboat Reasons for Induction: One of the all-time greatest matches against Steamboat at WM3. 2-time WWF Champion. Had classic matches against the likes of Hogan, Flair, and Warrior. Potential Barriers: Bad blood between him and Vince to the point where people are not allowed to mention Savage's name in his presence. What WWE must do to overcome barriers: Bury the hatchet. This is unique as it is Vince's issue, not Savage's so Vinnie has to work it out.
Inductee: Jake Roberts Potential Inductor(s): The Undertaker, Kane Reasons for Induction: One of the most over wrestlers of the WWF's First Golden Age. Classic feuds with Steamboat, Honky Tonk Man, Rude, Andre, DiBiase, Martel, Earthquake, Savage, and Undertaker. Potential Barriers: The fact that he has never won a WWF title may make him seem less deserving. What WWE must do to overcome barriers: Jimmy Snuka was inducted without ever winning a title. Play up his psychology and classic memories as equally as important as winning hardware.

Bad blood between him and Vince to the point where people are not allowed to mention Savage's name in his presence. Outside of the rumors (breaking steph in as a teen), what went down that was so horrible? Even in WCW and in interviews, Savage still puts Vince over for giving him his big break and doesn't trash him.

I cannot see why Faarooq is deserving, sure he was a former WCW champ and half of the APA, but there are at least 100 other people I can think of off the top of my head who deserve to go in before him. True, Simmons significance in the overall history of wrestling is pretty bleak, but last year The friggin' Blackjacks got inducted. So, if two cowboy goofs like that can get in, so can Ron Simmons...and you better not step on him!

In no order who I THINK will be in this year and some other thoughts.
Dusty - He will be the headliner of the HOF class Rude Perfect both men could be inducted by the brain but we know only one will be. Dibiase Trish?? (Is it too soon?) L.O.D. and on an outside chance the Fink
Now with ppl saying Bruno, Backland, and Savage... With Bruno not liking Vince he is a no go. I don't remember why Backland said he wasnt going to be in it, and Savage is just crazy!
Now future inductees coming within the next few years:
Flair Pillman AA Owen Austin Rock and...... THE SHOCKMASTERRRRRRR!!!! Okay maybe not!

I hope this is the last HOF for a few years otherwise the WWE are gonna run out of legends to induct.
WWE.com 2009: The WWE is pleased to announce that Chris Benoit will be inducted into the Hall of Fame. We caught up with the Crippler and this is what he had to say "It's a great honor to be inducted into the HOF and I really appreciate it. But isn't it a bit too soon for me? I mean I have not officially retired yet."

Wrestlers (inductor in parenthesis): Dusty Rhodes (Dustin Rhodes), Rick Steamboat (Ric Flair), Ted DiBiase (Sherri), Curt Hennig (his father Larry Hennig), The Road Warriors (Paul Ellering)
Managers, etc: Mr. Fuji (inducted by another manager, perhaps Jimmy Hart or Bobby Heenan), Mr. T (would be great to have Piper do it, but Hogan would also do just fine), Gordon Solie (inducted by Jim Ross...this would make the show for me)

I would like to see the following inducted soon;
Dusty Rhodes Randy 'Macho Man' Savage (i know it is unlikly) Arn Anderson Bob Backlund Stu Hart Rick Martell Mr. Perfect British Buldog Davey Boy Smith Dynamite Kid Jake Roberts Rick Rude Ted Dibiase LOD Midnight Express
Obviously they wont all go in at once but if they spread those inductions out over a few years i would be happy.

I don't understand why people debate this so much, it's a little deal run by a for-profit company. Even the baseball hall of fame elects a lot of players that have been rotten to the media (Eddie Murray), and no baseball player would ever refuse induction. WWE has several cases of people who won't agree to an induction (Backlund, Warrior, Bruno) and various others who have bad blood with the WWE (Savage). I'd go on more, but the HOF is more of a work than you think.

Winning a title is a work and alot of guys break down in happiness, because it shows that the company recognizes your skill...or atleast it did when the belts meants omething, but thats besides the point.

But having a WWE HOF w/o Savage, Backlund, Warrior and Bruno is like having a baseball HOF w/o Reggie Jackson, Mike Schmidt, Joe Dimaggio and Willie Mays. It's a joke, and people just debate the hell out of it like it's a NCAA office pool

Hall Of Fame? This must be a joke. I have been watching since 1983 and I think they should lose the following people... Ivan Putski Jimmy Snuka Big John Studd Magnificent Muraco Bob Orton Jr Jimmy Hart Nikolai Volkoff Iron Sheik Sherri Marel Tito Santana Tony Atlas William Perry
I can see if they awarded one a year posthumously for Studd & JYD. But Putski? Volkoff? You've got to be kidding me. And Rick Martel for '07? I realize that he had a career before WWE but he was no Ric Flair. That's like me saying that Tommy Rich should be in.... or Buzz Sawyer.
I look at this like a legitimate hall of fame, wrestlers who deserve to be honered for their contributions to the sport, not losing every PPV. I think the British Bulldogs (neither of them) get in due to lack of time in wrestling. While they were the first team of their kind, they were a flash in the pan. I agree with Gordon Solie, Dusty Rhodes, and Road Warrior Hawk (Stupid Vince making them change to LOD). I feel this honor should go to the best of the best, not the ones who were okay and helped Lil' Vinnine when he took the reigns in 1983. }
