I just don't like seeing figures from the past coming in and pummeling actual wrestlers.
You know?
He was great at the time, but it's REALLY time to move on and stop going back to the Old Guard.
Then again, I'm all about the wrestling. If people just want to see the signature Stunner and beer drinking shtick, fine.
I'm just not into it anymore.

I still mark for Stone Cold, backstage issues aside. The guy WAS professional wrestling in the late 90's and I really enjoyed his character and his matches.

I am waiting for someone to call him a wifebeater. well before that comes up remember that Debra never pressed charges and forgave him.

I am waiting for someone to call him a wifebeater. I'm hoping that it'll be Ric Flair, 'cause I'm a big fan of irony.

He walks out when he feels like it, when the company needs him, but has no problem cashing their checks when it suits him.
I used to like Austin as much as anyone else, but if you're so high and mighty, then get out and stay the F out.
You can't wrestle, your schtick is old and boring, and the last thing that we need is for him to come out and stun wrestlers who are actually bust their ass to entertain the fans, no matter what gimmick they're given or who they have to job to.

I don't remember reading that FLAIR ever attacked his wife. If I recall correctly, there were some accusations of domestic violence thrown at Naitch when he was getting divorced. EDIT: From his Wikipedia page: WHOO!

EDIT: From his Wikipedia page: WHOO! After hearing Flair talk about his wife and children in his autobiography, I just can't see that happening ... but whatever, I'll never know the truth behind that.

the IWC is gonna get pissed no matter what.
they yell to make london champ, then when hes made champion they complain about a lack of competition worthy of his royal highness... put CM Punk on national TV and they complain about how he's not being the same CM Punk that they know... the IWC would complain if you hung em with an old rope

I always liked Rock more than Austin. I found Rock to be that generation's Hulk Hogan. A guy with so much charisma and star power that he could do whatever he wanted to and make it instant money. Austin was THE breakout star of the late-'90's, and I respect the hell out of him for that, but from a strict entertainment standpoint, I got tired of him rather quickly. Which is ironic because two of my favorite wrestlers of all-time can be categorized as being too predictable (Hogan and Rock). I like some formulas, but not others.
As for the arguments about jobbing, I think every big star in every era is guilty of it. You can't name one big star who wasn't overprotective of his spot, especially in a business where a wrestler can be here today and forgotten tomorrow.

Once and then it never happened again as far as I know. So then, he is a wifebeater, right? No a wifebeater implies that he has done it many times.

I thought we were talking about Austin/Brock and Stone Cold's wrestling career ..... who the hell actually CARES if he beat his wife or not? It has nothing to do with this conversation. It's like people are just reaching for things to hate on him for.
