WWE should wait a while longer if they ever intend to make him heel again. Even though it won't be as big as Hogans heel turn, Cena turning heel will be HUGE. Think about Cena's die hard casual fans who love him to death. Now imagine Cena turning heel in front of their eyes... Exactly. Those fans who aren't interent fans, especially the little kids, and obsessed Cena fans will have their hearts broken after seeing their huggable lovable hero turn to the darkside. I've said it a million times, but turning Armando into the very personification of evil and not just a loveable but goofy guy in a suit would be as easy as revealing that he has Umaga on a short leash from a combination of coercion, threats to Umaga's family, and drug addiction. Umaga could very well be a reasonable, kind individual ... but Estrada wanted a big, tough guy that he could give a gimmick and make a lot of money off of, and so he did what he had to to get that. I think it's a money idea. Ah, making AAE into an evil Cuban druglord/dicator type, who uses manipulation, blackmail, threats, fear, and brains to control the timid little mind of Umaga? Sounds good actually. A good way if any, to turn Umaga into a face... Wait, Umaga as a face? Ok that would suck.

He's not just "huggable" but "angelic" and "sweet" too. ;D If Cena turns heel, our local Cena troll will be doing his best Saddam Hussein impression.

There's no need to turn Cena now... The fans' support has been brought back to more than acceptable levels, RAW doesn't need another heel main-eventer, Cena's merchandise is still flying off the shelves (or so I guess). About Umaga... Does anybody remember Kamala "I....am....a....man" storyline? I don't want to go through another thing like that. And it's not 1993 anymore, so having Cena trying to free the kind Umaga from the eeevil Estrada reeks too much of "7th Heaven" to work IMO

I honestly believe a Cena heel turn would rival Hogans I can see all the Cena merchandise burning now. It would stir such a controversy on the web. But what would you rather have a Heel Cena dominating or a Face Cena? I could only imagine Heel Cena just going up against faces. He wouldn't rap again unless something hit creative.

I think this begs the question, Can Umaga overcome the odds now?

The only reason Cena's getting cheers is because the people he's facing. Who really wants to cheer for K-Fed, Umaga, and Khali?...answer: NOBODY and they know this. Put Cena against a heel (who's not Edge) like an Angle, Jericho, HHH, or even a heel HBK and things would change.
The BOOS would come back so fast it would make your head spin. Because anyone who's got talent exposes Cena for the joke he really is.

Lawler always gets giddy whenever Cena lays a hand on Estrada, but I'm still unsure why I should get excited over that. It just makes me sad.

I honestly believe a Cena heel turn would rival Hogans And you are correct, sir. And I have begged for this to happen in 2005, 2006... And it didn't happen. I gave up. They're gonna push this guy through the friggin' ceiling and won't really give a crap what happens. Over? He's over with a silent f***ing e (rarely used) and they just keep going.

I've been to house shows and Cena is COMPLETELY over, not 1 person I could see was booing him, of course on tv it's different, but at a house show, it's like when Raw used to go to Canada and Shawn was suddenly hated and Bret was the face in 97-98

I hope that now, people can stop saying, "oh well he's just in a mark town, that's why they're cheering for him..." no. It's been like this pretty consistently for the last few months now. Cena has gotten his face heat back without going back to his old persona. The experiment of keeping the belt on Cena until people like him...seems to have worked. Good for them, I like the guy. Although this could be true, I haven't ruled out that WWE just alienated its portion of the audience who is sick of Cena, and the only people who still buy tickets to Raw are people who like Cena. In other words, I don't think people who used to hate Cena now like him, I am thinking that people who hate Cena realized he wasn't going anywhere and they just quit buying tickets and watching the show.

I honestly don't mind Cena as a face or any of that, but I do completely hate two things about him.
1) How he's booked to be a monster. The Rock used to win damn near every match too, but he also took a ton of beatdowns, and would squeak out wins with a counter into a Rock Bottom. Cena just eats his opponent for dinner in the final moments of his match.
2) The fake Marine thing. It's silly enough they changed his character to hype a movie he was in, but to keep doing it after the movie flopped and is generally out of promotion (sans DVD release) is even more ridiculous. All the camo gear, the Marine-style hat, the salute, it all needs to go. John Cena is actually a pretty cool and entertaining guy in real life. They need to just let him be an amped up version of himself. That's what got The Rock, Steve Austin, and Chris Jericho over. They didn't have some mold they had to fit into. They just got to be themselves with the volume cranked all the way up.

I honestly believe a Cena heel turn would rival Hogans I can totally picture it. JR: "BAH GAWD KEENG, UMAGA IS KILLING MARIA! SOMEBODY DO SOMETHING! (Cena's music hits) Lawler: "The champ is here!" Ross: "BAH GAWD, JOHN CENA IS HERE AND HE'S WALKING WITH A PURPOSE!" Bobby Heenan: "Yeah, but whose side is he on?" Ross: "Bobby.....what are you doing on Raw...in 2007?" Heenan: "WHOSE SIDE IS HE ON???!!!"

If The E waits off on a Cena Heal turn for another year or two, it could be huge. I honestly think it could spark a huge ratings increase. As long as the E is patient and Cena continues getting more popular, they have a can't miss on their hands when/if Cena turns into a badguy.

Dude, he is a Marine that raps. Whilethis doesn´t change, his character will continue to suck. He hasn't rapped in a long while.

He never got osuper over because of his wins, he got over because he's the Rock.

Nah, I don't think that will ever stop. He's over in the majority of towns, except for places like NYC (see 9/11 Raw from last year) and Philadelphia. Plus, he's not on TV as much as he was in 2005 when they were force-feeding him down our throat, trying in vain to get him face heat against long-time favorites like Jericho and Angle.

The question to consider is what would he have to do to go heel? It was his last heel persona that got him over to begin with, so we can't go back to that. Beat down DX. Side with RKO or Vince, or appear on SD and ambush Batista. Act cocky and brash instead of fired up and half crazed. Zero goofiness, no jokes, no silly raps. Stop saluting fans. Intimidate Maria during interviews. Smile seldomly.
