McMahon is content with making Cena this generation's version of Huk Hogan (a guy who can't wrestle but is marketable x's 100), however I think Cena is actually less sloppy in the ring than Hogan. They won't turn him heel for a long time. As a face, he gets crapped on by traditional wrestling fans and loved by women, children, and marks. Turning him heel would eventually bring him down to mid-card status because then everyone would hate him.

I honestly believe a Cena heel turn would rival Hogans No, no, no. When HOLLYWOOD HULK HOGAN turned heal the entire world was in shock. The entire wrestling community focused on it. Even people who don't watch wrestling were shocked to hear that HOLLYWOOD HULK HOGAN had become the bad guy. It was a major historical event that lead to the boom of the 90's. A Cena heal turn would mean very little in comparison. Cena may be popular with a few people, but he's not drawing numbers. The casual fans aren't tuning in to watch him, and the core fans hate him. He's only over with the newbie fans. And they will soon learn why everyone else hates him. Hell a heal turn might actually make him more popular. Certainly getting rid of that stupid spinner belt couldn't hurt.

Cena is over, I can't deny it. And I don't unerstand it- nothing has changed, yet peopel have stopped booing him. Are the fans given up to the fact that he'll be here for ever, or have the non-Cena fans quit going? I don't see why most people suddenly like him. This isn't Cena hate, I'm just generally confused. Why did everybody change their minds? I can totally picture it. JR: "BAH GAWD KEENG, UMAGA IS KILLING MARIA! SOMEBODY DO SOMETHING! (Cena's music hits) Lawler: "The champ is here!" Ross: "BAH GAWD, JOHN CENA IS HERE AND HE'S WALKING WITH A PURPOSE!" Bobby Heenan: "Yeah, but whose side is he on?" Ross: "Bobby.....what are you doing on Raw...in 2007?" Heenan: "WHOSE SIDE IS HE ON???!!!" And thank you for making me nearly spit Coke all over my computer, that was brilliant.

I honestly don't mind Cena as a face or any of that, but I do completely hate two things about him. 1) How he's booked to be a monster. The Rock used to win damn near every match too, but he also took a ton of beatdowns, and would squeak out wins with a counter into a Rock Bottom. Cena just eats his opponent for dinner in the final moments of his match. 2) The fake Marine thing. It's silly enough they changed his character to hype a movie he was in, but to keep doing it after the movie flopped and is generally out of promotion (sans DVD release) is even more ridiculous. All the camo gear, the Marine-style hat, the salute, it all needs to go. John Cena is actually a pretty cool and entertaining guy in real life. They need to just let him be an amped up version of himself. That's what got The Rock, Steve Austin, and Chris Jericho over. They didn't have some mold they had to fit into. They just got to be themselves with the volume cranked all the way up. Dude, The Rock has lost more ppv matches then he has won. He never got osuper over because of his wins, he got over because he's the Rock. I never said he got over because of wins. I know he got over because he's The Rock... but there was a time in the WWF when he ALWAYS overcame the odds - just like Cena, but without it being annoying.

"John Cena you can go straight to hell!" Imagine JR saying those words.

Cena is drawing in a downtime for the sport, and despite nothing changing in his act, has turned a lot of the crowd around. But that's down to everyone but him, yeah?

There is no way a Cena heel turn could ever compare to the turn of Hulk Hogan back in 1996. The Ultimate face turning on the crowd after years of being the hero. Then you have a guy who's only been on-screen since 2002 with a character that 50% of the crowd hates and wishes he would just go away.
There's no comparison. Cena's turn would maybe surprise a few, but most have either been waiting for it for a long time...or just don't give a damn because they think he sucks either way.

"John Cena you can go straight to hell!" Imagine JR saying those words. Hell, Dusty is still on the payroll, might as well give him a Ron Simmons type cameo and let him say "who's bad now booooyyysss" just before Cena turns. Between that and Heenan ruining the surprise, it will be as close to the Hogan turn as you can get.
