No. Matches too short. No X-Division.

I'll admit that the special really showcased some of the great TNA matches of the past year. The problem is I know all too well that come Thursday, it will be back to the Vince Russo Wacky Variety Hour. So I wouldn't say that the special won me over, but I will say that it reminded me of why TNA has so much potential right now.

I hope TNA gets somewhat popular so I can watch them during commerical breaks for Raw. It's alright at a glance, but I can't stand 99.9% of it.

TNA blows goats. This is clear to me, now.
They have plenty of wrestlers that I like, but the presentation and the men they choose to focus on turn me off the product completely.

All I saw were highlight packages from angles I never paid attention to, gimmick CONCEPT matches, some of which were foolish and bad production values.
Honestly, those camera angles sucked. As I said on the live thread - I was not won over and am mildly intriguted to keep watching. I'll keep an eye on it and see what they do next.
My thought was why not start a big new angle right then and there. Especially when you're trying to, you know, WIN OVER NEW FANS.
I know WWE has zillions more dollars but boy can you tell the difference in production.
I still don't know why people compare TNA to WWE when WWE doesn't have wrestling in it's first hour of Raw. TNA barely had any either. Lots and lots of talking w/ some wrestling mixed in.

No. The more lasting impression I got from the show was a damn headache from the Shout Squad aka West/Tenay trying to speak over one another.
Those stupid "TNA Film" cut-ins were awful. They ruined the flow of the matches.
And watching Don West try and sell Russo's gimmicks was hilarious but painfully sad at the same time.

"TNA Films" view was just terrible, what the hell were they thinking? Not having any XDivision matches was pretty dumb as well.
And of course this being TNA they had way too many promos, not exactly the thing to do when you're trying to win over new viewers.

I didn't like the fact that they try to crap all over the REAL wrestling fed, WWE. Its almost all they force you to think, "TNA IS Wrestling". Which it ain't.

And I swear, if I see that damn Ultimate X/XDivision promo package again, I'm never watching another damn TNA show on Spike ever again. A good 6-8 minutes was spent with guys like Styles/Daniels/Senshi/Sabin/Lynn telling me "This is the X-Divison" and "This is Ultimate X"....who gives a damn? They're treated like jobbers and the gimmick is played out already.

okay, i watch tna maybe about once or twice a month, and because i watch raw religiously (even though, yes, it hasn't been as good as smackdown lately), i decided to tune into the tna special tonight to get my monday night wrestling fix. i saw the same exact things that i do on impact every week, with a bit more wrestling. but i really feel that this show was sub-par. first of all, the first match that they showed was so out of date at this point, what with jarrett winning and all, i don't know why this wasn't tabled in favor of another match or two featuring some other performers. you know, for all the time they spend each week trying to cram in all these promos to get a million guys over, i thought perhaps they would give the time to some other guys who a) are still around or b) didn't have another match later on in the program. minus, of course, ron killings.
secondly, that 'tna film' camera angle, or whatever it was, was stupid and jarring. didn't add anything to the actual visual of watching the match, don't get it...
third, it seemed like tna was basically saying "what sets us apart from wwe is that we have WACKY GIMMICK MATCHES!" which really got old very, very quickly.
frankly, i just don't see how this show did much to convert wwe watchers to their cause. i will still keep tuning in occasionally because they do have a nice talent roster, but the booking and presentation still kind of suck.

Oh and another thing, Don West has GOT to go, having the crazy over the top gimmick on a home shoping network is one thing, having the same gimmick on a wrestling show is another. It's just damn annoying and ads nothing to the broadcast.

Said this in the WWE thread:
TNA has lost me in the past 2 months and then went and blew the biggest chance they had to make me want to watch by showing me crap I have already seen. So no they didn't win me over but, they didn't push me away anymore either.

It would have been nice had they had a nice video package explaining the point of a lot of hte matches, like a pay per view, instead of randomly showing matches, especially since some of really out of date with wrestlers gone, and numerous heel/face turns occuring since some of them...
Or at least had that little graphic telling you how long ago that match was, so the viewer had an idea of the continuity instead of scratching their head one minute going, "hey I saw that guy a month ago, don't they hate him?"
And I know they were pressed for time, but really, cut Sting's entrance at teh beginning and not mention him until the match starts... you're watching the show and go "hey there's sting, he's still wrestling? What the hell's Jeff Jarrett doing in there?"
