I'm so upset right now, how many guys have we lost in the past 5 years, all under the age of 50? Perfect, Hawk, Rude, Liz, Bossman, Bam Bam, Eddie, Candido, Earthquake, and now Awesome.
I've been an enormous Mike Awesome mark since he showed up in ECW. His feud with Tanaka is well known to be my most favorite series of matches of all time, and I treasure the fact, now more than ever, that I saw him live at ONS 2005.

Man this is terrible. Awesome was a hell of a worker. I know he has retired but i wish they brought him into ECW after the incredible match at ONS.
RIP Mike Awesome.

The big question here, is whether or not Mike Awesome belongs in the WWE HoF. EXCUSE ME!? YOU NEED TO LEARN WHEN TO SAY SOMETHING THATS RIGHT AND SOMETHING THATS NOT RIGHT! THAT WAS TOTALLY UNCALLED FOR! The poor man lost his life, and you're worried about him going to the hall? Keep your mouth shut!!! As for Mike, you had a great career. I followed you through ECW, and when you came back to win the belt in late 99, that was AWESOMEEEEEE! RIP Big Guy!!! It was meant as a joke towards those people who believe everyone who dies deserves to bein the HoF.

The big question here, is whether or not Mike Awesome belongs in the WWE HoF. I would say absolutely not, just because I don't think most fans involved in the WWE HoF know anything about his career outside of his stint with WWE. And yeah, I realized that it was a joke. I do wonder, however when huge names outside of the WWE die, (like Sting in the future for example) would the WWE do something to honor them, even though they were never a part of their company. I think they would as time goes on, and as they continue to be THE wrestling company.

According to Meltzer, apparently, he hung himself (So says a friend of mine).

This is not a good way to start a day. I didn't see many of his matches but every one I did see I can't say I didn't enjoy in some fashion. R.I.P Mr. Awesome.

RIP Mike. Incidentally, I thought it was classy of WWE to refer to his match at the first One Night Stand as the "show-stealer" (and rightly so).

Yeah, I know I should expect it, but I just hate how they link that to the crappy "WWECW". As though he was a part of that abomination of an organization. I dunno.

RIP Mike. Incidentally, I thought it was classy of WWE to refer to his match at the first One Night Stand as the "show-stealer" (and rightly so). That performance should've gotten him another job with WWE. Granted, Awesome himself hated working for them, but it would've been nice to see him back in mainstream wrestling. RIP Mike, and thanks for the great memories.
