That about him gearing up for another run makes me even more skeptical and confuse as to it being suicide. If he wanted to return to the ring why would he suddenly do what he supposedly has done? It just seems strange to me. This is just pure speculation of course, but Mike Awesome took a ton of hard chair shots to the head in his career, and post-concussion syndrome can lead to depression and suicide.

It just seems strange to me. Seems really strange to me, too, but it always has. He had a large, loving family, good friends, and a decent career. Even if Vince didn't bring him in, I'm sure he could've found work with TNA or in Japan. I dont think we'll ever have answers, here.

I remember reading he had re-established the Gladiator character over in Japan not too long ago, and that he was making a decent living doing that.

I would expect so, he always struck me as the rare gaijin who got tons of respect in Japan like the Funks, Hansen, Vader, etc.
