According to Meltzer, apparently, he hung himself (So says a friend of mine). Yes, here is the report. We forget sometimes what damage the business does to a man's life, and not just his body. Such a damn shame. Rest in Peace, Awesome, for you truly were.

I am in utter shcok. Yet another great big man and an ECW star taken in 2 months. I pay it wasn't suicide, but that opens up the prospect of murder. RIP Mike Awesome, I'll never forget you and your many great battles in ECW.

This is such a shame, I always hoped he'd come back to wrestling one day. He truly lived up to his name.

I am shocked.... this is totally unexpected. I still held hopes that I'd see him in either the new ECW or WWE. The man could work, he was agile, and ....well, awesome.

I know, and it tears me up. I can't believe that he'd commit sucide, and I can't even work out why. He was happily sellnig real estate, wasn't he? I alway hoped he'd come back to wrestling, come back ot TNA or ECW. I'm going to struggle to accept that another ECW icon is gone too young.

If Russo and then the WWE hadn't dropped the ball he could have been one of the biggest names ever in the business

I'm going to struggle to accept that another ECW icon is gone too young. Couldn't speculate on a reason. Guess he just didn't adjust well to retirement. I was trying to 'be strong' through this one but the second my friend pastes me the part about him hanging himself, I start crying because I can see the image in my head and it freaked me the hell out..... yes i'm weird go ahead and laugh.

Damn man. First Bam Bam and now Awesome. Sad, really sad. Sadly wrestlers tend to die in threes. So look for another to drop soon. Well, hopefully this was a chain of big men that began with Tenta, continued with Bam Bam, and now can end with Awesome.

"Awesome is his name, all his victims feel the pain..."
Another very sad loss, my jaw actually dropped when I read it.
RIP Mike, you were a God among men.
